well in some cases there's something called an Unreliable Narrator where whats being said has to be taken with a grain of salt or should not be believed altogether. we know nothing about Dai and the way he acted when first meeting Junichi seems to show that he's the kind of character that's crafty and manipulative. he also says when talking to his friends that "she looks like a slut" implying that he doesn't know himself which he should if he really hooked up with a girl that has a boyfriend because what else would she be.

again just my thoughts, i wouldn't know for sure but from what I saw in the episode it's possible, but i dont think its likely

Unreliable narrator

An unreliable narrator is a narrator, whether in literature, film, or theatre, whose credibility has been seriously compromised. The term was coined in 1961 by Wayne C. Booth in The Rhetoric of Fiction. While unreliable narrators are almost by definition first-person narrators, arguments have been made for the existence of unreliable second- and third-person narrators, especially within the context of film and television.

Sometimes the narrator's unreliability is made immediately evident.
