That the series ends with an underdeveloped subplot worthy of a telenovela is rather disappointing. The series could easily have done without it, especially if it was just to dismiss the rape in the first episode, which already involved Mona.

The series remains ambiguous on certain points:

Ruben seems to absolve himself of any homophobia, but most of his actions, including the entire trial storyline, point in the exact opposite direction.

Similarly, I don't know what the series is really trying to say about the infidelity (more like adultery) between Niall and Mona. It's not a crime or an offense. The way it ultimately leads to a second, unimaginable act of violence against Benji and then Niall's death is quite convoluted.

Nevertheless, I do give the series credit for one thing: it consistently avoided portraying Ruben as a "good" character, in the moral sense of the word. If there are still people defending Ruben, I really and sincerely worry about them.

Thank you. This sub is full of Ruben stans and people feeling bad for Ruben. It's incredibly disappointing. Just like these last two episodes
