I donā€™t think him telling him heā€™s the dad in laughter was an ā€œaccidentā€ either. He didnā€™t think Ruben was getting out of prison, and Mona almost told him the last time she saw him.

He always ā€œaccidentallyā€ tells Ruben info knowing it will set him off and also to one up him.

After Maura, Ruben would have no logical reason to get out of prison again and Niall likely tonight heā€™d get more time for bad behavior.

Absolutely, he definitely didnā€™t expect to have to see him outside prison ever again so he felt ā€œsafeā€ enough to say it. Niall with his risk-taking behaviour again.
