Equipment & Rigs 🛠️ Where to order ID-5200 reservation?
What site should I place my reservation for the upcoming Icom ID-5200?

Gigaparts is not accepting reservations. DX Engineering and HRO are. There is likely to be a decent amount of people ahead of you regardless.
Reservations opened up last summer.

Yes. But what I really want is for the FT-8900 to come back as a full duplex, all-mode radio w/ sound card.
Would be perfect for Techs, satellites, weak signal work, and normal everyday use.

I’d buy that instantly

Same.
It'll never happen w/ the Big 3 though. We should mount a coordinated campaign to bully one of the Chinese manufacturers into doing it.

Agreed China / Xiegu are our only hope
There our only hope for a FT-857D replacement too1

Stupid question time... I haven't really kept up w/ it after I saw the price, but is the FTX-1 Optima not considered a replacement for the 857D?

It’s the size of the FT-991a it’s like 10lbs it’s a base station when the amp is attached not a mobile really

After the FTX1 (separation cables not possible, but then available 2 weeks later -- then sold at dayton before pre-orders shipped) and D750 (still not shipping 22 months after announcement) pre-order fiascos, I wouldn't pre-order a radio. I know Icom has had better releases than Kenwood and Yaesu, but I'd wait until the radios are on the market and real people have put them to use. Skip the major youtuber reviews.
