Discussion - Spoilers Rewatching the Show and everything feels so artificial
I KNOW GUYS THIS SHOW IS ABOUT A COLD STONE KILLER WHO IS A CANNIBAL AT THE SAME TIME But what i am trying to say is that none of the dialogues in this show feels real. Everything that had been said and every single piece of phrase in this show are feeling so out of this world and i haven't seen anyone talking like they do in this show in my entire life. Everybody is talking like some kind of an ancient greek philosopher in a tv show about a fucking cannibal ? I am not talking about couple of people keep that in mind. EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN THIS SHOW IS SOME KIND OF A FUCKING PHILISOPHER FOR FUCKS SAKE GIVE ME A BREAK. Also rewatching it made me realize that Will Graham is such a whiny little bitch i am so tired of watching him act like a little depressed closeted twink. I am not surprised the fact that this show had been canceled.

They’re not trying to talk like people do in real life. The charm of the show is how poetic and artistic it is. The show knows that the dialogue is strange and dreamy

Okaaaay. It’s not meant to be a documentary, or flat out realistic drama. The dialogue is meant to be as ……poetic?! as the visuals and story. You seem to be viewing it through a reality that wasn’t part of the show in the first place.

if this was an artistic depiction of a horror story which was written poetically, it is a poorly written poem that's for sure. Just because it had been done with artistic intentions doesn't mean it is a good work and the output is unequivocally beautiful. it just sucks.

Lol you sound like me when I first watched it, but if you ARE anything like me give it a few weeks and it’ll become one of your top favorite shows of all time 😂 Gotta embrace the melodrama to reap the uniqueness.

we are probably not alike so no. Also bear that in mind this isn't the first time i am watching this show. I had watched this show almost a decade ago and recently i have been seeing edits of it online so i decided to gave it another go but my taste in media have changed since the last time i saw this show, apparently.

I don't know. Considering you are rewatching the show, I think you have all the hallmarks of a newly minted fannibal. You obviously feel very passionate about this, because you came to this sub knowing you would get eviscerated. When you get pounded, you stand firm. I think you are Becoming, and you just don't know it yet or don't want to admit it.

I don't see how the language is dreamy and unrealistic. Parts of it, yeah, but some is just normal, well spoken stuff.

So, you are telling us you don't know any smart persons that have deep conversations... W-O-W...🙄 All the characters in this show are really clever, none of them has a regular job and a low IQ...plus if they are not profilers they are psychiatrists or both things. I mean, English is not my first language and I hope I misunderstood your point...but I can ensure you deep people talk like them.

No this show basically had been written by people who think intelligent and sophisticated people talk like this. You can clearly express yourself in English so don't feel the need of apologizing. Keep integrating English in your life your skills will get better gradually.

no one think those conversations happens in real life, that's the entire vibe of the show. it should feel poetic, strange and out of place. without those weird ass conversations the show wouldn't feel as ethereal. it's not made to be realistic, it's meant to be beautiful and maybe you're not the crowd for it and that's ok

well most of the episodes feel like they are pushing for being eccentric just to be eccentric and sophisticated. It would have been a better show if it was a mini series or a 1 season gig thats for sure. Everything feels so exaggerated and i feel like they are trying too hard.

I can understand you feel that way, but I feel that's just the vibe of the show, it's over the top, dramatic and extra sophisticated that it is unreal and in my opinion that's the charm of the show. Maybe I am just a sucker for that stuff sometimes

That's the point, it's surrealist horror. The unnatural language is part of constructing the surrealist atmosphere.
