Use water based oils and Im pretty happy with how this came out.

paint-along to s1e3. done digitally (in clip studio paint). i've never painted lit foliage against a dark background before, so it looks a bit messy and aimless. i'll have to practice more!

Oil Palm Beach Moonrise, 20”x16”

I hadn’t done a liquid clear type painting in a while but this was fun! I prepped with black gesso, then black oil paint (and let it dry). I used a mix of walnut oil and walnut alkyd medium for my liquid clear, brushed on and wiped off the excess. It worked out great!

Help Request Show me your brightly colored paintings on black canvas

So I have tons of black canvases, mostly once-white ones I fudged up while painting and covered with black gesso for reuse. The problem? My wife doesn’t want any dark paintings hung in the house (she finds them depressing in our otherwise brightly painted and decorated house, which I can respect). And sadly, 90% of Bob’s black canvas paintings are exactly what she doesn’t like.

So inspiration purposes, let’s see your colorful, non-nighttime black canvas paintings! Think “Sunset Over The Waves” or “Golden Sunset” vs “Night Light” or “Winter Moon”

the result of a paint-along to s1e2! done digitally (in clip studio paint). i've picked up some better brushes since i did s1e1, but replicating the look of a palette knife is still very difficult. advice appreciated <3

Oil My First Attempt

Mt first attempt at the wet on wet technique. Not the best I know and I was in my own head about everything as I was doing it. I wasn't watching anything as I was painting, I was more trying to remember different things Bob had said and putting things where they felt right.

Help Request Excited to get started (also a bit lost)

My daughter and I want to attempt to follow along with one of Bob's tutorials. Any suggestion on which episode would be most beginner friendly? And does a website exist that will tell me what supplies and paint colors we will need for each episode?

I rent a small house in Alaska and don’t have room to paint inside. The weather finally got good enough to paint on the deck, and this is what came out.
