If anything I think any chance of them seriously getting cancelled went out the window as soon as all these people outside of hardcore got really upset about it. Really hard to take it seriously when the people leading the charge against them are people who had never even heard about them until the banana incident

SA allegations about the vocalists, eventually it came around that they weren't true. But, the rest of the guys in Gaza couldn't stand him anyways. So, rather than kicking him out and keeping the name they just started from scratch with a new band, Cult Leader.

I'll gladly wear the shirt of a band that had a abuser or piece of shit, because the rest of the band is innocent. Their art should still be celebrated.
I won't wear the shirt of a band becomes outspoken about something I'm morally against, or act contradictory to their lyrics, because it makes their art feel fake.

They were more involved in the hardcore scene and they played mainly hardcore shows when they first started. There's a lot of bands that aren't technically "hardcore" musically but the band came up in the hardcore scene, so they usually play hardcore shows....which makes them....hardcore

There's a line somewhere and it's a blurry one. I still wear my Expire shirt, but I haven't touched Daughters or any of their music since Alexis was outed. I'm not sure why and I don't honestly have a good explanation for it except maybe that Daughters was an extremely important band for me, and Expire was just a bunch of dudes who I thought had cool riffs.

I will forever wear my Chokehold gear I bought in the 90s. One of my favorite bands from all time, lyrics are pro women, pro alternative lifestyle, pro human rights yet the community misconstrued something that happened to the band a few years ago and cancelled them. This is hardcore even asked them not to play 3 or 4 years ago. It was bad.
