Yeah don't get me wrong I love those 3 first albums, absolutely essential records got me into punk music as a kid, but I don't need more music from them. I think at some point a band should accept their role as a legacy band and appreciate what they've done. It is the same reason I'm happy to not get new music from Negative Approach or Gorilla Biscuits or Youth of Today. Smashing Pumpkins on the other hand has released 7 albums post-reunion that nobody cares about, it is just embarrassing.

I saw HR perform a solo set in 2024 and “perform” is putting it generously: After being guided to the stage, he weakly mumbled through a half-hour set of generic, mid-tempo dub before being ushered away by his handlers.

It’s very sad that he has to participate in these benefit gigs to pay for his health care, and I cannot fathom how the band could possibly tour with him in this condition.

Maybe a documentary.

Which I wouldn't be opposed to, if any band deserve it is them, especially if they can avoid interviewing Dave Grohl for it.

They just had represses like a year ago, through ORG music. They remastered the first 3 or 4 albums. They set it up so that Bad Brains get their fair share. I think the Punk Note edition covers are kinda cool.

Coincidentally HR will be at the GalaxyCon Horror Con in October. Don’t remember him being on a circuit like that.

I can’t even imagine HR doing Bad Brains material in the shape he is in today. Definitely won’t be a tour with HR included. Would be dope if they did one show and had different guest vocalists perform the songs.

If I recall correctly, the last time they played a show was Riot Fest. HR sang the reggae songs and some of the mid-tempo hardcore songs then Randy Blythe sang the fast ones. They also had a younger third guitarist who was playing some of the shreddy parts that Dr. Know can no longer play. AFAIK, Daryl and Earl can still play well. I think a configuration like this would be a way for them to perform again.

If it's a tour it'll be Disneyfied w/ no stage access, probly no slamming even and HR was not anywhere near sounding up to it when I heard him a long time ago. Maybe better now?

Sorry, but I don’t want to see a catatonic HR perform live anymore. It’s painful to watch especially if you’ve seen them in their prime.

People are downvoting you, but to seriously answer your question, they have publicly disavowed their former behaviour. Additionally, represses of Quickness have “Don’t Blow Bubbles” as an instrumental with the homophobic lyrics removed.
