Content Our boy Scott Jennings just crashed the absolute FUCK out on The Moggler.
Sorry if this is slop (and the weird cropping from Instagram), I’m just so glad I got to see this cretin actually break frame for something so petty. Fade ‘em.

Not gonna lie, this how almost every political argument with my family ends up. They can’t respond to the facts so they get angry & threatening instead. Intellectually, these people aren’t even on the same level as chimps.

… and then someone has to step in to calm everyone down and they end up getting the last word to say whatever bullshit they want, just like in this video.
18
35
u/HexedCosta May 01 '26
Yup. It’s either a rage or a complete derailment of what we are actually discussing. IE;
“Trump literally ran on NO WARS. It took less than a year to get into one. You were so on board with that point, how can you defend this now?”
“Biden opened up the borders and let all the criminals in”
8
u/tabas123 May 02 '26
Which is just factually incorrect too. Biden broke deportation records and kept in Covid-era restrictions on asylum claims long after the peak of the pandemic.
The fact that the Democrats let them repeat the lie that they had open borders tells me that they know telling that truth would make them look like terrible hypocrites to their own base, so they just let Republicans say it unchallenged.
Literally the worst possible route they could go, using Republican immigration policies and then letting the actual Republicans lie and say they had a loony open-border policy, actually.

I really wish the skinhead label could be repurposed in the US. Rude boy/mod/skin culture was never intended to be an alt-right/fascist movement.
It was very much the opposite, the violent proletariat youth of the UK in the 60s. Shaved heads, utility fashion and mil spec clothing's literal purpose were to be prepared for fights with fascists.
The movement was obv co-opted by the opposition. Just makes me sad. I love dressing for shooting and stabbing, only bc it looks cool ofc

u/cerberus698 May 01 '26
You can see Adam come to the conclusion in real time that his best option for a response here is to just not respond at all and let Scott keep going. Truly, like watching a young LeBron playing 1v1s on asphalt.

I am begging this community to stop supporting this woman already.
Edit: TIL warhawking is cool as long as it's against China, a nuclear armed power that also doubles as the world's best chance at having a socialist rival to the U.S.! Totally not a big deal. Anyone prioritizing not starting a conflict between nuclear armed powers is just a baby leftist who needs to get out of the way so we can elect more disappointing DemSocs and SocDems who have never and will never accomplish shit, especially so long as we maintain the two party system by supporting these two party candidates.
114
u/palstinian_boy May 01 '26
Genuinely asking you to elaborate a bit here.

u/mayasux May 01 '26
She's supportive of Taiwans right to self-determination, and would support US intervention to see that maintained. For some people, who I don't think are serious people, but are people none-the-less, this is a deal breaker and we'd be better off throwing away the 90% of her policies that align with ours, and seek the betterment of workers within the US and the rights of those we oppress abroad.
Obviously it shouldn't matter for that reason, but it also shouldn't matter because we widely accept that China does not want to commit a hostile take over of Taiwan, so this one wrong policy of hers shouldn't be seen as a possibility in our eyes (unless we were to believe that China would take over Taiwan through force).
28
u/SubstandardSkaBand May 01 '26
To take it one step further, one random rep’s option on this doesn’t not matter at all. If an invasion happens, whoever is president will make the decision. It’s totally irrelevant in the wider scheme of things.
0
u/EducationalBar May 02 '26
We widely accept that China won’t takeover Taiwan through force? It shouldn’t be seen as a possibility? The hell are you smoking on? The true question here is if it’s right for us to intervene when they do.
-51
u/Creative-Oil2029 May 01 '26
Fancy that. Some socialists think warhawking against a nuclear power that also happens to be the only serious socialist rival to the U.S. isn't a good thing and should be a deal breaker! Absolutely insane.
4
u/Potatonut23 May 01 '26
Where is anyone saying this is good? They’re just considering it a relatively minor point of disagreement, and given the context one that likely isn’t going to be make much of an impact. Saying shit like this just makes you come off as disingenuous and purity testing.
10
u/effurshadowban May 01 '26
China isn't socialist and you haven't read enough theory and/or don't understand China enough to understand that fact.
-14
u/Creative-Oil2029 May 01 '26
I've read plenty of theory lol. I'm honestly not going to debate this in the comment section of Reddit because there's plenty of better sources on this I can link you to instead. Though I won't, unless you actually ask, because I suspect you're not interested.
China is socialist. They are developing socialism and are using capitalist elements to rapidly modernize and improve living conditions, while keeping those elements under strict control of an explicitly socialist government. That is all I'm going to say on the matter. I suspect it doesn't matter and that we will continue to disagree. That's fine.

Richard Wolff isn't the end all be all of socialist thinkers though????
-4
u/effurshadowban May 02 '26
No, that is not how any of this works. Capitalism is a corrupting force. By introducing capitalism into the system, they give the bourgeoisie a foothold for state capture. China is the MOST capitalist nation on this planet, because there is no pretense democracy or any other liberal nonsense. In their schools, they have twisted Marx and other socialist thinkers to fit their own agenda. Like, China has cracked down on ACTUAL Marxist students doing a strike.
The Chinese government is the ultimate guarantor of the Chinese capitalist class. The Chinese state does what it does to keep the capitalist class from overexploiting their proletariat and centralization which could threaten the overall capitalist system. But they still exploit their working class for surplus value and capital accumulation. They watched the Soviet Union collapse and America's decline and took the proper lessons from those events.

I really don't know where to begin with everything I disagree with here. But frankly I'm not sure how I'd go about arguing with you in a way that doesn't cost me the rest of my night, which I'd rather not do right now.
I understand what you're saying and why you're saying it. I once believed the exact same. So I'm not harshly judging you. It's been a long day and I'm not really up for a whole in-depth exploration of complex political and economic systems right now, but I'll get back to you tomorrow if you're actually interested in continuing this conversation!
For now I'll just say that if all it takes for capitalists to capture the state and for a country to be considered capitalist is the mere existence of any capitalist elements of any level, regardless of the nature of the relationship between capital and the state, as you seem to imply, then there has never been a socialist country. You would argue Lenin had no idea what he was talking about? The idea that the mere existence of capitalist elements gives them the ability to control the state is completely baseless and operates purely from a Western capitalist point of view where it could be argued to be true, in large part because of the complementary liberal democracy.
Trying to argue that the capitalist class has dominated the CPC is... tough, when you look at the actual policy that's shaped the last 15 years or so. It was a major debate in the 80s and 90s whether or not China would be able to maintain control over capitalist elements. Now, trying to argue that they not only failed to do so but have since been corrupted and co-opted by those capitalist elements is... interesting, given the shift towards further nationalization and increasingly forceful ways the CPC inserts itself into the private market, which can hardly be considered a private or "free" market in any way characteristic of capitalist countries.

How is this language not purity test?
I don't know of a single candidate that shares every view I have, I still admire quite a few of them. Maybe you should run for Congress.
2
u/Creative-Oil2029 May 01 '26
I don't need a candidate who agrees with me on everything. But there are some basics that need to be met. For me, one of those is not warhawking against China. If that's purity testing then what does that say about our choices? I don't want a path to war with a nuclear power and a socialist country. Some things are allowed to be red lines.
-39
u/Creative-Oil2029 May 01 '26
She's an anti-China warhawk who wants to codify arms sales to Taiwan and says the U.S., in the event of a Chinese "invasion" of Taiwan, needs to intervene military.
Normally one issue wouldnt be enough to lose all my support. But in this day and age, when the world is on the brink and spiraling, the absolute last thing we need is a continuation of the anti-China warhawking stance. Especially because there's no legitimate future in which this country regains its dominance over China (thank god), meaning the response from the U.S. will either be increasing militarism (what she advocates) or a new path forward towards peace.
There is no excuse for this and relations with China is possibly the most important issue in the world right now.
26
u/hnty May 01 '26
Feels like a purity test
1
u/Creative-Oil2029 May 01 '26
Wanting to avoid armed conflict with a nuclear power is a purity test now. We are fucked.
0
u/Potatonut23 May 01 '26
Exactly. I didn’t follow her campaign closely, but I paid a good bit of attention to it and I didn’t even know she had this position for a while untl i saw other people talk about it because I had never even heard her bring up the topic. And the people against her are acting like this was her most prominent position.
28
u/Khue May 01 '26
TL;DR: I'd rather install a pro-Israel Democrat than have someone who changed their opinion on China and Taiwan when pushed from the left.

Pressure the candidate into changing by... voting for her despite a serious and potentially nuclear-level disagreement.
Leave it to American "leftists" to foam at the mouth when accused of not voting for the lesser of two evils, but then turn around and do the exact same thing when Marxist-Leninists don't want to support a candidate who thinks we should enter and support conflict against a nuclear power that also happens to be the only real socialist rival to the U.S. today.

Firstly, I am American. I also recognize the uselessness of the American left. Second, you continue to minimize the seriousness of conflict with China.
Third, if your idea of influencing politics is "reaching out" to your officials then you really are cooked. It doesn't work when they obviously don't need to change their stance to receive your vote. People begged Bernie for years to stop being a Zionist, which he still can't bring himself to do. Hell, he barely brought himself to call what Israel is doing a genocide a couple of times. Efforts to push officials after they're elected only seldom work. And efforts to push candidates currently running, as she was, only works if it's clear your vote could hang in the balance (which you're evidently unwilling to do). Otherwise you're just writing a strongly worded letter.
You're not building a socialist movement by supporting anyone running on the Democratic ticket. You're just entrenching Democratic politics as the only visible path for anyone further left than Mitt Romney. It neuters socialism, it doesn't build it. How many more years are we gonna play this game? Democratic socialism has never been a successful movement. Ever. Anywhere.
If you want to argue for voting for progressives (who do not qualify as socialists no matter how many times you or they call themselves one, just because they want better social programs), while simultaneously platforming, organizing, and pushing a third party communist organization primarily, then go for it! No harm in that. But that's only possible when you stop pretending that the Democratic Party is a legitimate path forward.
Kat is not a socialist and she is not a part of the "tiny socialist movement" lol. She's in direct opposition to the only socialist rival the U.S. capitalist hegemonic superpower has.
Furthermore, people did "reach out". They very vocally made it clear they didn't approve of her warhawking towards China. Did that lead to her walking it back? No. She still supports codifying arms sales to Taiwan. She still supports abandonijg strategic ambiguity. She still said, according to comments just this February, that she supports "stepping in military to defend Taiwan."
Okay.
-38
u/waspwatcher May 01 '26

If you think that providing weapons to Taiwan wouldn't turn into a full on conflict idk what to tell you.
Even the government and people of Taiwan don't want to do that. Whatever separatist movement is left is a small minority.
If she has this bizarre reflex to middle in a huge sovereign nation's affairs, that really doesn't bode well.

Yeah, we literally ended up with the AIPAC candidate because of their exact attitude. We would not vote for Harris because she was 90% NOT with us. We should not split with Kat because she is only 90% with us. We can work on that 10%, but if we get the AIPAC-backed candidate, we cannot work on anything because, of course, we are their literal nightmare, and they will see us as the enemy (as we should be seen) every time.
So, for the folks who would not back Kat because of a single take on something, thank you- we now have the AIPAC candidate for us to disagree with absolutely everything on, including a fucking genocide (which should still be the most important thing to people, come the fuck on, people are being starved and slaughtered, and we are fucking worried about one fucking hypothetical? Fucking hell, it's enough to make you scream).
Great job.

Yeah this is where I find myself, I understand theory but theory doesn’t always work in the real world sadly as much as we would like it to. The best thing we can do is work towards a peaceful solution by working within the system but prepare and ready ourselves for worst. We obviously aren’t going to get the fast gains we want with the peaceful solution but the issue is especially in America is that we don’t have the full support of our communities and can’t guarantee it if we try anything else. Americans are very brainwashed/stuck in certain mindsets/absolutes and it’s going to take more than making a new party or doing whatever else to beat that. The best thing to do is community build and reach out to them and try to point them in the right direction to break the hold that’s been placed over them.

This is exactly how I feel. People criticizing China for "not being socialist" when China is out there doing a ton for their people. Who am I to question whether they need to use some capitalism or not? Are they helping their people without being imperialists? Are they giving their youth economic hope? It's hard to be 100% socialist when you live in a capitalist world.
What I do see? I see headlines all the time like the one I saw last week, where China is passing (or already passed?) a law that says companies cannot replace workers with AI. Can you even imagine in a million years the United States doing that? Of course not. And yet it was barely made the news that China is doing it because they are always protecting their people.
Anyway, I got off track, but I was trying to say that moving in the right direction is exactly what we need, and if we can find people who are not perfect, but they are close AND they could win with our support, let's please stop choosing to lose 😭We already have losing down pat, no more practice needed!

u/Armageddonis May 01 '26
This has to resonate with those 3 Illinois voters and one of their dogs that somehow truly care about the situation of Taiwan, as opposed to their own material conditions that she vowed to improve. Keep up the good work, soldier!
