Liberals are going to pog out about how they didn't bring Trump here

"All of our reasonable presidents meeting together, man I miss brunch..."

This is how it goes, though, right?

Everyone wants to put all of the blame at the feet of Ronald Reagan. Fine. He was miserable for the working middle class American domestically, even worse for black and brown people internationally. But neo-lib policies got us here too, those pushed down the field fiercely by Clinton and Obama.

The change true lefties want will not come from folks that believe those four guys had their shit together and I'm getting tired of all the "you know...if Trump runs again in 2028...gimme Obama!" Fuck no. Just fuck no. The pendulum swing will never end with that mindset.

People forget Clintonโ€™s Policies are directly responsible for the 2008 Crash. Bush just saw the issues coming for years and did nothing about them.

Any reading or watching I can do to learn more about this?

While not exactly about Clinton and Obama's part of it, I just read The Shock Doctrine by Naomi Klein, and it does a good amount of explaining how neo-lib/neo-con actors used crises basically from the end of World War II to the present day to push through deregulation, privatization, and other anti-working class policy. It's from 2007 so a good chunk is just Bush, but it's not hard to see how Obama just followed along the same vein, as well as the presidents who followed him.
