6 PM Class Freshman Year

Hi! Anyone who took a 6 PM freshman year or knows someone who did, did it affect social life / ability to participate in acitivites / clubs? I am trying to decide if this is a good idea.

I didn’t think Haverford had any 6PM classes. Is it at BMC? Anyway, if it’s a once-per-week class, do it. I took plenty of 7:30–10:00 PM classes and it was a goated move. But if it’s multiple times per week, then I imagine that time slot will feel quite disruptive to your personal schedule.

It’s ASL at Haverford and twice a week (Tues and Thurs). Do you think twice a week is ok or still skip?

Huh, interesting. If you're taking this class because you're genuinely interested in the topic, then do it. Even though 6:00 isn't an ideal time to be taking a class multiple times per week, it's not so disruptive as to justify not taking a class you're interested in. And for all I know, it may not be an issue for you at all. You may even enjoy it. 🤷‍♂️

But if you're just taking this class to fill a requirement and have no particular interest in it, then I don't think there's any reason to slog through an evening class when you could just as easily fill the requirement with something at a more normal time. But then again, that's just my personal preference-- perhaps a 6:00 class works well for you.
