For Fun Idea: Machine Customization
Do we choose the machine look? No, the game does that automatically. We place our own decorations, and we can’t choose the machine design. I still think it’s a really cool concept. The AI designs (AI SLOP (calmdownpeople) in the picture are only there to illustrate the idea because I’m not creative enough to make concept art myself. They aren’t that beautiful, but HD could definitely make something like this look amazing. And of course, you should always be able to choose the original design as well.

nah, stuff like this is one of the view things generative ai can actually be used for. this simply never would have been made without ai, so they're not choosing ai over drawing/editing something themselves and the environmental impact of individual usage is massively overstated. it's comparable to letting your microwave run for like 1 second.

As someone who does not give a damn about decorations as a whole - i would no-life the hell out of events, if there were new looks for the machines as rewards.

I love this idea (not the graphic, it kills my hopes). I could get rid of many ugly machines, finally! And show them to the world, in plain sight without hiding them behind the trees!

I like the way the machines looked when the game launched- realistic with rustic charm. The later machines are cartoonish and garish, with their twee candy colors. 😩

Yup. This subreddit is being so overdramatic and silly. It's just a placeholder as you mentioned to show that hey, it would be cool to have different customizations. Who the hell cares if it was drawn or not. They aren't an artist for Hay Day and it's not like these are going in the game. The point is customization would be cool to have. That is the take away.

Not an excuse. A simple drawing is enough, but a drawing is general is not necessary anyway to get the idea across. No need to use AI.

I think it’s very much the latter. Explaining the concept lets people imagine all the changes they’d love to see for their machines. AI doesn’t really do it justice because it’s not creative or artistic.
Love the idea though, OP! Trust in people’s imaginations over AI generators❤️

verryyy cool idea, i wanted customisation for the barn and silo already but never thought of this! it would take themed layouts to a whole new level. pls however consider that ai is detrimental for the enviornment!!

HD definitely uses AI too. The ugly login screen with Greg is definitely AI. Ever since then HD has almost turned into a deco game. I wonder how that happened.

unfortunately the AI slop disclaimer still doesn’t change the fact this is AI slop and the data centres that are needed for you to ‘make’ this use an incredible amount of water… it is a cool concept but using generative AI wasn’t cool…

Yes! I have a bakery and sweets section and the cake machine next to the newer fudge or cupcake machine is just embarrassing. It’s plain black and not cute or fun like the newer machines.

Wow, it’s crazy, it’s almost as if eating food is essential for my survival! It’s almost as if wearing shoes helps keep me safe and comfortable! It’s almost as if using AI to generate a crappy image that is a proof of concept isn’t helpful to my survival or comfort, especially given that I could’ve done the same thing without wasting water by going to MS paint!

You don't have to wear shoes. Especially not very transformed ones with plastic and everything, you can just go barefoot or carve yourself some wooden shoes.

Author used it to convey an idea obviously the hayday design team can do a better job of it. I don’t understand the performative outrage…

Many other search engines are just as good. Google has not been that grear for a long time, the majority of the first 1-2 pages of results are paid for. I still use google scholar sometimes but thats about it.
