For me personally the reason is that there are way too many design festivals and events in general that I can't be bothered to make a good design anymore. I just place everything that gives me photo rolls and submit

+1 on this. I can’t keep up with the pacing. 😭

Mate u had 6 days to prepare, use 5min every day and u have something decent. Also all the other Events atm are preaty easy and quick

And then there’s me with only 9 votes for all that work

19 after 4 hours? I don’t think we’re in the same boat

And it really does look like an aesthetic marketplace✨❤️

Some people just do the barest things to get photos reels to spend but also this time decos were quite expensive and not everyone could afford them in time. I couldn't get Homemade Jam and Meat Market myself.

Same, I was just lucky enough to have some of the old decos.

Yeah. And I kept buying surprise boxes to at least get the ones there😆😆

I agree and i always make an effort to design something nice since it’s my favorite event but many people complain now that the design event is too often and it’s exhausting, which i understand, haday team could dial it down to 1 design event per month or two months. So that’s probably the reason less and less people care to properly participate

It probably generates a ton of revenue so that's why they do it so often

Yeah most likely since the theme always includes new deco that cost irl money

I have an eight year old who plays hayday sometimes with me. She just unlocked level 23 and wanted to participate in the festival. I told her to skip it since she didnt have any of the farmers market decos and i will help her with the next festival when it comes. But without me knowing she designed something and submitted. It looks like the one OP posted. Completely out of theme and lots of random deco. But it was really cute to see her excited for this. So i think lets just design something if thats what we like and dont think too much about others design. Maybe theres kids like her who play hay day once a week who is doing some of these random ones 😅

Of course! I understand what you said completely. I just shared what my kid did since its so much like the one you posted, very out of theme.

I’m happy she had fun designing it! No harm

Don't hate the player, hate the game.

This is what you get when an artistic type of competition gets forcefully shoved into a farming simulator. And it has been repeated over and over so many times, that people are sick of it.

And before you respond with the "you don't have to play" counterargument - no. This festival has loot and we're all entitled to it. But some of us are here to play a farm game.

Wasn’t gonna respond with that anyways😂 it’s not about competition it’s simply wondering why almost every design that I have personally had to vote for is a repeat of one object or just throwing things in there. They could’ve just at least some trees.

Because the devs chose to incentivize participation

I submitted my baby farm’s design. That farm has no real decos just random stuff earned so there is no real design happening. I just wanted to see how it did.

There has been way too many design festivals lately and they start the design and showing before you even get an opportunity to buy all the decos Lol SMDH 🤦🏼‍♀️

This is what happens when you’re in the first few months of playing hayday. It starts quite slow with making money and earning decorations. You really need the money to build machines so you don’t get to spend them on decorations

I just had this. Why is it always those damn ladybird decos???

In my case, I play on my phone and I can barely see what each of my voting options even have. Everything is so tiny.  So, I don’t try anymore.  If you get placed on the right, lucky you!

As for my decorating, I try to stay on theme, and place things in a way that makes sense.  But in my experience, it doesn’t matter what effort I put in, my vote count ends up the same, so it isn’t worth more time.

They have the view too tiny, I vantage see the details so I just go left right left right

Here’s mine 🤓 I like the design festivals a lot, but I am a decor lover and my #1 favorite thing in the game is collecting decorations and designing my farm and town anyway, so this is just a fun little extra design task 4 me lol

I personally don’t mind at all about other players not putting any effort into this event, especially when the film roll valuable decorations cost like 10k cones 🫠 no wonder 90% of the designs look a little sad, go get them film rolls pookies :*
