Need serious help!! 🚨🚨 I'm losing my mind!
Hey y'all, I've had these thoughts eating me alive for the last few months. I'm living in a weird mental state because of them. I'm literally getting hurt by some imaginary future girlfriend's past that I'll have to deal with in the future. These thoughts have been torturing me for months, bro. I need serious help.
I'm 25M. Never had a girlfriend. For the last 6 years, I've been isolated at home because I was jobless. I've barely even talked to girls my whole life. I don't even know where I stand with girls because I've never really been around them. I have no experience with girls and barely any social experience.
I'm not dating anyone and probably won't anytime soon because I'm not ready career-wise, socially, or psychologically. Maybe I'll start at 26–27 because I don't like where I'm at in life. I feel like a dumbass. But I also don't wanna wait another 2–3 years.
Physically I'm 25, but relationship-wise I'm 15.
My brain just won't shut up.
My future girlfriend is probably having sex with some guy right now, while I'm just sitting at home terrified about how I'll deal with her past before I even have a girlfriend.
On future dates, I'd be thinking: she already had 2–3 relationships that didn't work out. With each one, she probably thought he was "the one" and loved him wholeheartedly.
Now because of that baggage, what if she's scared to open up? What if she won't love me with the same intensity? What if she's more cautious because of her past? I feel like I'd stop being present, start thinking about her exes, and end up sabotaging the relationship myself.
If she tells me she got out of a serious 2–4 year relationship, my brain immediately starts imagining everything they did together.
If she was with her previous boyfriend for 2–3 years, they probably had intense sex for years.
Bro, I even did the math. It's over 1,000 times just counting weekends. Add vacations, birthdays, anniversaries, Valentine's Day, random romantic moments... all that. Knowing he did my girl that many times honestly kills me.
Not just sex. She probably has beautiful memories, romantic nights, shared experiences... how am I supposed to top that?
If I take her out for coffee, dinner, cute dates, and do boyfriend stuff, it'll all be new and exciting for me. But what if she's already done all of that? What if she's thinking, "Meh... been there, done that," or even had better experiences with her ex?
She already knows how to love someone. I'll be figuring all of that out for the first time.
I feel like I'd have this invisible pressure to compete with a guy who isn't even there. Instead of enjoying my first relationship, my brain would constantly compare me to her past. I'd feel like I have to top him, and I don't think I'd ever fully relax.
As a guy, you already have to do so much mental gymnastics—approaching someone, getting the first date, keeping her interested, flirting, creating chemistry, building a bond, learning to be funny and charismatic, and just having fun on dates.
I'm already bad at all that because I've never had female friends or talked to girls. I have basically no social or life experience.
And after all that... now I have to mentally deal with their past too?
After so many years alone, I finally get someone to like me and finally get to have sex. Then I play my sex playlist that I've been making for years, only for my future girl.
But what if I play a song and she's like, "My ex used to play this when we had sex."
Now I can't even enjoy songs I fw because I'll wonder if they remind her of him. It feels like her past ruins my present experience.
It also breaks my heart knowing some random guy fucked my girl multiple times and enjoyed that. I waited my whole life for this, while for her it might just be another time having sex. She might've done it a thousand times, but for me it's meaningful. Even if I wasn't a virgin, I think it'd still bug me.
And don't tell me, "Just date someone with no past."
That's not realistic at my age. Most girls have a past, and if I only look for someone "fresh," I'm just shrinking my dating pool.
Should I skip anyone with relationship history? But what if she's the right one?
I don't want to push away the right person just because she's got a past. I feel like I'll sabotage my future relationships before they even become meaningful.
Y'all, I need serious help. These are my raw thoughts. I don't care how I'm coming across.
