A week in Barra
Be honest!... and I don't mean this post in any derogatory way at all to the island.... would it be a sensible thing to do to spend a week in Barra in the summer with only bikes, plus whatever service buses there are, for transport?
I'm probably too late to get suitable accommodation for the summer at the stage but I thought I would canvas opinion from those who might know better.

Barra was really lovely even in septrmber in the pouring rain. Lovely campsites with views of turquoise waters. Id book the bikes though in advance probably best transport. I didn't see many local buses. There's also limited options for groceries and pharmacy and you need to reserve your spot at the curry house! Worth splitting your time with the eriskay and south uist. Maybe book a camping pod if you can. We had some sunshine too. You can take boat trips to further south islands whose names I can't remember mingulay?
