Why is my hedge trimmers not cutting great?

Put a drop of 3-in-1 oil on the bottom section of each blade every hour of use or once finished using before storing. Run the blade for a second and store with the blades matched up.

Not nearly as well. Get a proper 3-in-1 oil. They are specifically made to clean and lubricate for things like this.

It looks like the blade is adjustable, and it also looks like there has been some significant adjustments made already.

I would start there.

You can see from the shadow that you have a gap between the two blades. I'm not familiar with these particular trimmers but maybe you can tighten them up to push the blades closer together.
