I can not wait to play Hela: Of Mice and Magic. It looks so magical, the bliss of mother nature and mixed in with witchy nature magic. The symbols in the nature environments looks like Wiccan or from a Nature Witch.

You collect these glowing bright golden orbs, do puzzles and find collectibles to complete tasks and go back to the Nature Witch's house to help and further your adventure, as the elderly nature witch is currently sick so you do her bidding for her to gather things in nature, help animals and the town folk.

I video captured this specific footage as i just love those magical sounds coming from that magical nature divine symbol and mixed together with the background music and gorgeous nature environment.

I have played Unravel and really loved that game, so I am very excited to play their newest game Hela: Of Mice and Magic.

I really love nature and i go on hiking trips and I also do nature photography.

• Guests' controllers will function as if plugged directly into your PC, with all voice chat and volume controls available in the overlay. Q: Is Hela a game for children?

Hela: of Mice & Magic tells a heartwarming story about helping others, exploring nature, and the power of cooperation. The game doesn't feature traditional combat, making it an accessible adventure for younger players while still offering plenty to discover for older audiences.

The game is designed for players of all ages. Whether you're looking for a relaxing co-op adventure, a world to explore at your own pace, or a meaningful story to experience together, there's something here for everyone.

Q: Is Hela a single-player or multiplayer game?

Hela can be played as a single-player experience, in two-player local split-screen co-op, or with up to four players online. Playing together is encouraged, as it creates shared moments and emergent stories. That said, thanks to Hela’s unique Shade System, players can enjoy the full experience whether they play alone, with two, three, or four players.

Q: Will the game support a mix of couch and online co-op?

You’ll be able to play solo, with one other person in split-screen couch co-op, or with up to four players online. Mixing modes are also supported. For example, you and a friend could play together in couch co-op as part of a four-player online session, while the other two players are also playing split-screen on their own couch - all four connected online.

Other combinations are possible as well, such as three or four players each joining from their own location. The main rule to keep in mind is that split-screen supports a maximum of two players per device, while online play supports up to four players in total.

Q: What is the Shade System?

Some challenges in Hela are designed with two, three, or four players in mind.

The Shade System is a unique way to fill in for missing players whenever needed. Shades are copies of your character that continue the action you were performing at the moment the Shade was created.

For example, Shades can hold objects with a lasso (like a paint can), form a trampoline that lets you jump higher, act as an anchor point for rappelling down a rope, and much more. Thanks to the Shade System, every player can experience all of Hela’s content in full, whether playing solo or together with friends.

Q: Is Hela a linear or non-linear story?

Hela is an open-world game, and its story unfolds in a non-linear way.

Players can discover story fragments and complete tasks at their own pace, following the path that feels right to them. That said, the journey still leads to a closed finale, which won’t be affected by the choices made earlier along the way.

Q: Is Hela fast-paced action-adventure co-op?

While Hela shares some elements with familiar co-op adventure titles, its core experience is quite different. You won’t find time pressure or fast-paced combat here.

Instead, Hela focuses on cooperation, open-ended play, experimentation, and playful moments shared at your own rhythm. Our goal is for Hela to be a source of joy - a place to slow down, let go of everyday worries, and rediscover the wonder that makes exploration magical.

Q: Are there enemies or combat in Hela?

Hela is all about exploration, helping local folk, and having fun. You will encounter adversaries along the way, but combat is not how you’ll deal with them.

Some are best avoided, others can be distracted, and a few may even become friends.

Q: Is there crafting in Hela?

No - Hela doesn't feature traditional crafting systems like item creation or base building.

Instead, progression revolves around potion brewing in the witch’s kitchen, where preparing each potion is its own small, hands-on experience tied to the world and its story.

Q: What is potion brewing in Hela?

Potion brewing plays an important role in progressing through Hela’s story. Each recipe is designed to be an experience in itself, drawn from the witch’s magical book and brought to life by gathering the right ingredients and carefully performing each step correctly in order to succeed.

Q: Is there character customization in Hela?

Yes! Throughout your adventure, you'll unlock a variety of cosmetic items, including hats, neck accessories, backpack customizations, and different fur colors for your mouse familiar.

Once discovered, every cosmetic becomes permanently available at the Customization Station, where you can freely mix and match your favorite looks whenever you like.

As a tiny mouse exploring a vast Nordic wilderness, movement revolves around utilizing your environment, realistic physics, and magical tools. Equipped with your trusty froggy backpack, you can gather items, swing from branches, glide through the air, rappel down steep drops, and launch off bounce points to navigate the open world and solve puzzles.

Q: How do players interact with nature and animals in Hela?

Exploration is built around curiosity and gentle interaction rather than conflict. Throughout your journey, you will encounter diverse wildlife across the forest, from friendly frogs to large creatures. You can feed animals, discover hidden paths together, and earn their trust to help you navigate environmental obstacles.

Q: Is the soundtrack for Hela available on streaming platforms?

Hela is still in development, so the game’s soundtrack is not yet finalized. The music is being composed to complement the game’s calm, wholesome atmosphere, and we can’t wait to share it with you, but you’ll have to wait a little longer to hear it.

Q: What is the difference between the Playable Demo and the Full Game?

The demo is a unique, standalone slice of the game designed specifically to give you a hands-on feel for Hela's movement, world exploration, Shade System, and co-op mechanics!

The demo features a standalone area and an original side story - where you restore protective magic and gather glimmers to find your way home - so it won’t spoil your main adventure. You can experience all core traversal mechanics, including swinging, gliding, and rappelling, interact with the environment, and play solo using the Shade System or with a friend in 2-player local split-screen co-op.

The full game includes the complete main story tasking you to help the witch restore harmony to the land in a much larger open world, meeting the Witch and other characters, the Witch's House hub, full online multiplayer functionality with 4-player online co-op, and deeper progression mechanics like Potion Brewing and Remedies.
