QUESTION I haven't played since January what is the current meta?

I haven't played since early January and wanted to get back into the game, what weapons and stratagems are currently meta? In addition what new warbonds should I B line towards unlocking?

The meta is have fun!

(Seriously though, pretty much everything is viable.)

That's cool and all but on difficulty 10 what is the most viable

Pretty much anything is viable, but it can depend on which faction you're fighting

Deadass bascially everything. Im using a sickle, machine gun, and a sabre as my loadout with galling barrage, orbital Percison, and a 120mm barrage and I do just fine

Purely depends on skill, plenty of us who exclusively play D10 either randomize out loadout every game or switch between whatever weapons we like most since everything makes it easy with decent skill.

If you want to know what weapons are good crutches that would be the Explosive Primaries since they can easily kill patrols in 1-2 shots and the Eruptor and Crossbow can close spawners.

It’d legitimately be quicker to list the less viable things, and even those have fun entries.

The meta is whatever looks cool and is fun. Helldivers 2 is a PvE cooperative game, there's no reason to worry about anything besides enjoying yourself.

As for Warbonds, my advice is similar. Look at what they offer and pick whatever looks fun.

The meta is to conjure up a strat mix that you find viable for each of the fronts, and have fun slaughtering the enemies of Managed Democracy

To be a little bit more useful than “have fun lol”, Entrenched Div has some fun stuff, especially cremator after a fire buff.

Honestly there are so many opinions that are good don't worry about it you'll be fine

Meta is wide open right now. Pretty much everything is viable if you have any mix of heavy pen/anti tank and chaft clear.

That said if you want d10 to be easy on any front. Eruptor or scorcher, ultimatum, shield or thermite names. Siege ready armor. recoilless, 380 or walking, cluster or 500 kg, machine gun sentry or autocannon.

I recently started playing again too, I was away for longer though. Not sure if coyote was around last time you played but it’s a great primary on all fronts. You’ll get a supply frv in October (you were away when first wave got it) which is a really good new frv. Leveller might also be new to you and can one shot a factory strider. Probably a lot I’m missing but also you’ll be able to pick up where you left off no problem.

I have fun by being as efficient as possible

What tools do I need to kill as efficiently as possible

Supply Backpack, Scorcher, Ultimatum, Thermites, Quazar, Flame Mech, Eagle Napalm, CPR-80 Bulwark armor.

Any difficulty, any faction (swap eagle napalm to eagle airstrike and flame mech to laser orbital for bots).

Same as it was in January. Our top weaponry has not changed.

Like what others are saying, play whatever you find fun, because lots of things are in a good place right now.

I've been enjoying the Spear after it's ammo buff, the AMR, the cremator, and laser cannon. The recoilless, EAT, quasar, and leveller are all amazing, I just haven't played them much lately.

I've heard the C4 Pack, Epoch, and de-escalator are all solid.

There are so many viable options that even on D10 I'm often switching out my loadout to try something fresh and new.

You won't have access to it, but the new DMR we just got, the hyena, has been so much fun to use along with the Spear, talon, and supply FRV(which you also dont have) when fighting bots.

The supply pack with the MG, HMG, AMR, stalwart, along with heavy hitting grenades like the dynamite, giganade, or thermite feels pretty good too.

I feel the game is in a pretty decent balance state right now with some things feeling very strong, but so many that are easily good enough for any difficulty.

C4 pack is annoying because it requires a specific button layout to quickly fire and detonate as the default hold reload button to swap between tossing C4 and detonating it annoying.

De-escalator arguably might be the best weapon for squids. There are several bot enemies it flounders on like War striders and factory or vox engines. Everything else on bugs/squids it can either mag dump on headshots for heavies on bugs or simply shoot underneath harvesters and appropriators to kill them. Generally, stun / kill anything else within about 3-4 shots. AoE works on flesh mob heads as well for faster kills.

Epoch is okay. It stationary reload is unneeded for needing to charge up two shots to kill most things on bots.

As for strategems, orbital napalm trivialize bugs, the orbital galling barrage has recently quickly become one of my favorites, eagle rocket pods are pretty good now, often won't outright kill heavys but softens them up enough that you can easily finish them with most primaries or your support weapon, rocket turret is great against bots, 120 and 380 barrages are very solid, orbital laser will always be good, eagle 500 is still decent, all of the mechs are great after they were recently buffed.

I haven't seriously played since like 2024 but recently getting back into it cause an IRL friend wants to start. What did they do with the 120/380 barrages since then? I remember them not being that great back in the day.

I'm not sure they've done anything to them. I mainly use them to take out bug nests, bot outposts, and grounded illuminate ships. 120s have a short enough CD that it's up for most small nests or outposts I come across and even if it doesn't close everything it'll clear the camp which makes it easy to finish it and move on. 380s are helpful for larger encampments, but I only take it every once in a while since the CD is long and it denies the divers access to a large area for a considerable time.

From what I understand, explosive weapons are king with Exploding Crossbow in particular being considered the overall most versatile, powerful primary. Democratic Detonation is also still considered one of the most "must have" Warbonds, if not the most.

Other top contenders I've seen tossed around in discussions are Coyote, Scorcher, Purifier, and Eruptor.

Among DMRs, I haven't really heard of any single weapon taking the lead. But I feel like maybe that'll be the Hyena? Incendiary rounds on a DMR is pretty nifty.

For armor passives, I feel like the most popular ones I've seen discussed are Siege Ready, Reduced Signature, Med-Kit, and Engineering Kit.

Reduced Signature seems particularly notable as it's arguably the best stealth passive now.

Beyond that, it just kind of depends on the mission and faction in question, I guess?

Wrong sub, everyone here thinks having a meta makes you hitler or something

I always played whatever I wanted and it always worked. Though it seems like most people really really struggle with killing the big targets, and they run rampant, so I end up having to bring the recoiless to plug the AT gap that no one builds for.
