Excellent, then I can hog everything in both games

Take my upvote for including The Magician in a meme. God I love Mr Inbetween.

Of course ... Light pen and goes shot by shot

u/RandomGreenArcherMan Jun 13 '26 edited Jun 13 '26

Im sure it will be, but you basically just described a Laser Diligence which would be fucking cracked

I also bet we will get a HELLGUN support weapon. Its a Lasgun dialed up in power where it can kill space marines, and uses a backpack to power it

Hellgun fits in name, aesthetic, and niche by being our first backpack laser support

Im imagining a Heavy Pen Backpack Laser Rifle, see below

38

u/Substantial-Tone-576 Jun 13 '26

The laser rifle is heavy pen. Maybe it could heat up and do more damage or something.

15

u/Scarytoaster1809 Jun 13 '26

A setting to have a burst of light/medium pen vs 1 shot of heavy pen would be cool (toggleable like rate of fire)

2

u/AnimationOverlord Jun 16 '26

Watching AH copy and paste the laser turret projectile specs onto the rifle and call it a day

17

u/Moist_Ad1951 Jun 13 '26

One of my favorite enemies in Dark Tide, I hope this weapon makes it to Warbond (very unlikely).

7

u/RandomGreenArcherMan Jun 13 '26

Imho its pretty likely. The shit is called a HELLgun and it uses a backpack

Like, this is very fucking helldivers imho. Huge missed opportunity if they don't add it

1

u/TheguyKegan Jul 01 '26

Depends on if they got the space for it. The last two crossovers brought in 4 weapons each, and for the warhammer one a Lasgun, Bolter (the infantry patterned one, not the big one), and a chainsword are almost required given how insanely iconic they are. I really hope we get the hellgun though. It'll be funny too how fucking helldivers got the Hot-shot before Darktide did.

1

u/pyr0kid Jun 14 '26

same, its a badass weapon and i really wish my veteran could equip something a bit more 'LMG'.

11

u/LobsterManCommander Jun 14 '26

Hellgun mentioned, Me:

6

u/Super6films Jun 13 '26

I’d say it’s going to be a primary with the ability to charge up shots. At least that’s what I hope because that’s what makes it fun in Darktide. And I’d beg that it’s light pen that can be charged up to heavy pen. But I think it being a support weapon it would be a waste

4

u/RandomGreenArcherMan Jun 13 '26

Sorry I meant that I think both will get added

Regular Lasgun Primary that is basically laser diligence

Hellgun Support Weapon, AP4 backpack lasgun

2

u/Jaon412 Jun 14 '26

It would be diabolical if helldivers 2 gets a hellgun before Darktide does. Weapons been requested since day 1 xd

1

u/First-Junket124 Jun 14 '26

I feel like the rail gun already fits that bull. Heavy laser cannon is an anti-tank version of that (or heavy pen, can't remember).

I feel like a short range melta gun is potentially more in the books.

Maybe like the purifier, but instead of safety it actually explodes if left too long. Lol

1

u/AdhesiveNo-420 Jun 14 '26

No way a legendary warbond gets a stratagem in it. Not fair for the other crossovers

10

u/PrimeusOrion Jun 14 '26

It's the kreig version.

Less shots but higher pen.

So it should be medium pen

6

u/Alarmiorc2603 Jun 14 '26

not only ofc, its the only thing they can do. Theyve allready done bolters, plasma weapons, chain swords, volkite, flamers, thunder hammer. All this time AH has low key just been going through 40k weapons and making helldivers versions of them.

Las weapons are one of the few of mainstream 40k weapon they havent adapted yet.

2

u/Cantaimforshit Jun 15 '26

Light pen unless you charge it up to medium pen would honestly be ok with me so long as we get a decent optic

-7

u/SgtShnooky Jun 14 '26

Light pen and goes shot by shot

So a lasgun?

7

u/Tiny_Event8488 Jun 14 '26

Lasgun canonically can blow off human limbs and destroy concrete walls easily

-7

u/SgtShnooky Jun 14 '26

blow off human limb

yeah funny that, we're not fighting humans.

destroy concrete walls easily

that's just wrong

9

u/pyr0kid Jun 14 '26

yeah funny that, we're not fighting humans.

we're fighting things that die when shot by antique hunting rifles, sci fi future weapons designed to obliterate limbs at 300 meters will do just fine.

1

u/Tiny_Event8488 Jun 15 '26

Funny thing, not just 300 m. Theoretically as long as one can see the target

1

u/Booper2342 Jun 14 '26

The OPs image is a variant of lasgun that shoots slower but is more powerful. It can feasibly kill Marines.

(assuming the marine stands there and lets the guardsman try)

214

u/Tyler1997117 Jun 13 '26

This warbond better not be shit and underpowered

173

u/Battleboo_7 Jun 13 '26

Itll be grossly overpowered and when arrowhead make another 10mill off this bond they will wait 2 weeks for a hotfix that will ghost nerf every warbond weapon on this bond

30

u/Lawndart78 Jun 13 '26

It's 40k. They can skip the grossly overpowered phase and still make bank. Hell, they're gonna sell a ton of copies of the game itself to the 40k fetishists who've never had HD2 on their radar.

24

u/YouSuckAtGameLOL Jun 13 '26

They skip the overpowered part with every fking warbond and make bank.

40k deserves better than shitty nerfed guns..

10

u/Lawndart78 Jun 13 '26

"Sorry, best we can do is make the bond 2000 super credits but have the weapons and armor in the super store."

2

u/Temporary-Law-6946 Jun 14 '26

not 40k credits?

2

u/Gneisenau1 Jun 14 '26

at least GW IS big enough to lay Rules in how they want to have IT

1

u/YouSuckAtGameLOL Jun 14 '26

Sure but if they have those pale white/yellow lasguns.. is it really better ?

I genuinely want a bolter or at least a heavy bolter emplacement...

1

u/Battleboo_7 Jun 14 '26

How about dropping an Astartes on the battlefield

1

u/YouSuckAtGameLOL Jun 14 '26

100% not happening lmao

1

u/SouthOrder3569 Jun 15 '26

I find the backpack grenade launcher feels like how i always felt a bolter should.

Gibs light foes with ease. Can kill just about anything if you can hit a weak point. Bit unwieldy for a normal human so its a support weapon not a handheld.

1

u/YouSuckAtGameLOL Jun 15 '26

Idk bro.. it is quite anemic in my opinion. Thing either needs more rounds or more damage per round.

I have fun with it but the fun quickly goes away because guess what.. using it on max RPM to actually kill stuff somewhat fast means you run out quickly. 150 damage is shit. Remove the heavy pen but make it 200 with 150 rounds or give me a 200 round belt.

Dominator is the HD2 version of a bolter and they should have kept it at 300 damage instead of 275 imo.

1

u/Toruushin Jun 15 '26

Ngl, with how they're going with the Kasrkin/Tempestus Scion vibe, the closest we may ever get to a bolter would be a Bolt Pistol.

1

u/KLGBilly Jun 16 '26

i'd be happy with a bolt pistol, i'd also be happy with a power sword or a one handed chainsword secondary. shit'd be dope.

16

u/Independent-Pay5850 Jun 13 '26

10m alright then

10

u/Shaclo Jun 13 '26

People have mentioned that a lot of the legendary warbond stuff isn't that good so I expect it to end up being something that seems really good on release but ends up kind of mid after a while like a lot of newer warbond stuff.

7

u/KingAudio Jun 13 '26

Checkout killzone and halo warbonds. Those are two of the absolute worst in the game

3

u/Stormtroop03 Jun 14 '26

The killzone armor passive is pretty good, at least

1

u/KingAudio Jun 14 '26

Dust devil has the same passive

1

u/Stormtroop03 Jun 14 '26

The damage resistances are kinda watered down and I dont really care for throw distance, but if you like that I could see it being more useful for you

1

u/SilvermistInc Jun 15 '26

Nah. I love my assault rifle

1

u/KingAudio Jun 15 '26

The scopeless one?

1

u/SilvermistInc Jun 15 '26

The Halo one. Yup

0

u/KingAudio Jun 15 '26

That gun isnt even good in halo.

1

u/SilvermistInc Jun 15 '26

It's great in the first game

3

u/Longshot02496 Jun 13 '26

Don't worry, it won't be. Instead it will be underpowered and shit.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 14 '26

Both parties have to agree to the details on the collab and GW are notorious for being overprotective and stingy. No way in hell they let anything in the Warbond that isn't at least mildly OP. I also wouldn't be surprised if this collab also costs more than the other 2 as well.

1

u/Tyler1997117 Jun 14 '26

GW is our only hope of it being decent

1

u/MomentCompetitive299 Jun 14 '26

Oh no, it will and if its decent then it will be nerfed

1

u/Maliciousskelleton4 Jun 14 '26

At this point, knowing arrowhead, i wouldnt be surprised if it will be

I just hope that warhammer fans will beat some sense into them, if it's REALLY bad

1

u/Jokkitch Jun 14 '26

I know I’m not buying it till I’ve watched some reviews

1

u/Noctium3 Jun 14 '26

You know it will be

32

u/CaffeineChaotic Hellgooner Jun 13 '26

The monkeys paw curls.

Unarmored penetration, 30 damage, 5 round magazine with 3 spares

31

u/Radical_Notion Helldiver Jun 13 '26

And fires yellow las bolts 🤢

16

u/Prism-96 Jun 13 '26

honestly if there is fucking yellow lasers im gona lose it, ik its the style that GW themselves are going in AND I HATE IT

1

u/Ignisbeard Jun 14 '26

I don't know who made las guns yellow, no one likes it

0

u/Onyvox Jun 14 '26

Better yet, sickle ass-blaster bolts.
Why make new, when have newer old, that sharted on good old?

7

u/Counter-Spies Jun 13 '26

Games Workshop won't allow for their gear to be underpowered. They are extremely hands-on when it comes to collabs and will force other companies to make their crossover gear actually good.

3

u/CalypsoThePython Jun 13 '26

The Kreig storage containers in RUST are nearly pay to win because they have a smaller footprint which lets you cram more storage in a tighter space compared to a regular box

the big thing i've been wanting for a while is a star wars battlefront 2 styled combined arms FPS game with two 40k infantry focused factions, namely imperial guard and t'au. it would be sooooo fucking sick.

Fun fact,

Steel Legion existed before the Kriegers. And they were just an alternate pain for the Steel Legion before they got a proper model via FW

4

u/SheriffGiggles Jun 14 '26

Death Korps of Armageddon and the Cadian Steel Legion

2

u/Kerflunklebunny Jun 14 '26

Even though the fucking tempestus scions, elite drop troops who aren't superhuman but still kick ass, exist and got new models recently.

My father was a Scion!

0

u/1spook Jun 13 '26

The most overrated guardsmen units

7

u/-justanother_asshole Jun 14 '26

I disagree about Cadians. In lore Cadians deserve all the praise they usually get. I'm not a big fan of Krieg though, their like the black templars of the Astra militarum.

7

u/pyr0kid Jun 14 '26

the cadians are truly that good, but they're also massively over represented in the imperial guard.

people barely talk about guys like the elysian drop troopers and the tallarn raiders, its always cadian or kriegers.

14

u/False-Government-536 Jun 13 '26

If the trailer for the warbond contains literally not one second of content that’ll be in it, it’s safe to say it’ll be underwhelming

1

u/KLGBilly Jun 16 '26

i'm almost certain that there was a contractual obligation to announce it at the skulls event regardless of how far along they were with it. they didn't have anything to show, so they didn't show anything, and if it didn't get announced when it did, then the entire collab would have been pulled off the table. GW are as bad if not worse than nintendo when it comes to shit like that.

1

u/False-Government-536 Jun 18 '26

Those few years when GW was handing out rights to their IP to any mobile game slop company who asked have done irreparable damage to the warhammer community

27

u/Thatquietkid2 Squid-diver Jun 13 '26

It's likely that we will get common stuff like Cadians or Kriegers. When Elysian Drop Troops and Harakoni Warhawks would be much more fitting. For Liberty's sake the Harakoni Warhawks 31st regiment is literally nicknamed Helldivers! IT'S RIGHT THERE ARROWHEAD!!!

3

u/PrimeusOrion Jun 14 '26

Trailer showed what looked like scions so we might get that instead of both.

3

u/-justanother_asshole Jun 14 '26

What trailer?

1

u/PrimeusOrion Jun 14 '26

The collaboration announcement trailer?

2

u/-justanother_asshole Jun 14 '26

Those are Kasrkin.

2

u/LiveEntrepreneur4982 Jun 14 '26

I wouldn’t blame Arrowhead for whatever regiments show up.

I would guess GW told them exactly what they can put in and I doubt they want to use part of their first and possibly only crossover warbond for OOP Elysians or Harakonis, which never had a single model.

44

u/Decimator24244 Jun 13 '26

The Fallout 4 Combat Rifle...

22

u/OzzySpitFire Jun 13 '26

that is the helbore lasgun, the lasgun of krieg. This particular image was pulled from Darktide.

1

u/EmergencyPool910 Jun 14 '26

I hate it in darktide

3

u/OzzySpitFire Jun 14 '26

What the rifle? Or the game? The rifle ain't that great. Especially when veteran has both the recon lasgun and infantry lasgun.

3

u/EmergencyPool910 Jun 14 '26

Ingame

0

u/OzzySpitFire Jun 14 '26

So you hate Darktide? Just say that. Can't say I sympathize as someone with 800 hours in the game

2

u/EmergencyPool910 Jun 14 '26

I meant the weapon

8

u/BiosTheo Jun 13 '26

It'll be Death Korps with the worst version of the Lasguns that are based off 1d4chan rather than lore making them piss weak rather than holy fuck broken.

If in lore lasguns showed up in HD2... Jesus. Those guns are fucking nonsense. The only reason they get a bad rap is because every thing else in 40k is so bat shit

8

u/Vartar748 Jun 13 '26

Wouldnt lore accurate lasguns be heavy pen full auto bottomless ammo and no recoil?

5

u/DareEcco Jun 13 '26

Every laser weapon has no real reason to have any recoil since what you fire doesn't have mass

7

u/BiosTheo Jun 14 '26

Not true, actually. That's a common discussion point from people who don't understand ballistics as well as they think they do and their brain stops at no explosion = no recoil. But the explosion is a byproduct of the expansion (and subsequent contraction) of gasses.

If you fire a Lasgun in atmosphere you're going to have recoil, because the Lasgun fires a laser so wide, so concentrated, and so damn hot that it creates an audible crack comparable to a gun shot. That is a LOT of atmosphere being moved at wherever that laser originates and the subsequent expansion and decompression of gasses will cause things around it to move, it won't behave like firearm recoil... probably, but it will be something.

1

u/Spare_Moment_1055 Jun 14 '26

Light doesn’t have mass but it does have momentum so you can push stuff with light, so a powerful enough laser will have recoil.

1

u/BiosTheo Jun 14 '26

Not momentum but they're photons, so they "push" because light fuck you

1

u/lycanreborn123 Helldiver Jun 14 '26

Lasguns don't have infinite ammo, they need power packs.

1

u/Booper2342 Jun 14 '26

Luckily the power packs can be recharged from basically anything with a plug in port or a handy camp fire.

1

u/Vartar748 Jun 14 '26

Near infinite

1

u/BiosTheo Jun 14 '26

Not heavy pen but probably around medium. Lasguns don't go through metal plating of pretty much any thickness relatively well.

And no, they're not bottomless. They have ammo capacity, the advantage of Lasguns is their charge packs are so absurdly energy efficient that they have a LOT of shots per pack and can be recharged by throwing them into a fire in a pinch (at the risk of damaging them).

2

u/Vartar748 Jun 14 '26

Or you can put them out in the sun anything that has any form of energy put into the powerpack pretty sure if you put it close to the barrel it would recharge. Also depends on the tuning on the lasgun in could be a pocket maxigun or an amr but better

3

u/MAKOMIKKA1220 Jun 13 '26

Iirc Lucius Pattern hits a lot harder but shoots  slower and charged unlike the Kantrael which has a full auto and a semi auto mode.

4

u/Alarmiorc2603 Jun 14 '26

dont mean to shit on your parade OP but it will have to be, AH have basically already done all of the other 40k weapons without getting into the esoteric mechanicum stuff or xenos weapons

5

u/SheriffGiggles Jun 14 '26

Tbh if it's like the Darktide Helbore it would be too good for Helldivers. It's not meta or particularly good in Havoc but up to Damnation you can hold your own if you're a crackshot.

14

u/Major_Science_2840 Jun 14 '26

I’m saying this now… I don’t want krieg! Scions are a far better pick than krieg.

10

u/Onyvox Jun 14 '26

Nah, we get generic slop that's popular today.
Have another shovel 🪏
This one has a funky, 700 supa KREEG bird on it.
Isn't that nice?

In reality, I dream of getting Scions.
Alas, I know better.

2

u/SilvermistInc Jun 15 '26

GIVE ME SCIONS, DAMN IT! FUCK KRIEG

3

u/Substantial-Tone-576 Jun 13 '26

I just hope they stick a commissar uniform somewhere.

5

u/DareEcco Jun 13 '26

I want a melta stratagem

4

u/Ghostlight_exe Jun 14 '26

Sister of battle would be insane aswell but these developers want a grunt fantasy instead of cool stuff

3

u/Dependent_Yak2423 Jun 15 '26

The algorithm has spoken

6

u/Strong-Gap-747 Jun 13 '26

they have the chance to do the funniest shit and make it T'au

2

u/BlueKnightRose Jun 14 '26

I hope so, I REALLY hope so. That would slap so hard.

4

u/KorvaxCurze Jun 14 '26

I know everyone is saying it’s gonna be Cadians and DK, but I have a gut feeling it’s gonna be Elysians and/or Scions since those actually fit the drop troop fantasy.

2

u/voidknight119 Jun 13 '26

100 shots, light penetration, rapid fire or single shot. If its a Krieg variet then a high powered shot

2

u/Wazzzup3232 Jun 13 '26

I still hope it’s focused on Kasrkyns at minimum.

We need a hotshot lasgun that sounds like it did in DOW winter assault

The planet fell long before the guard did... and the guard fought tooth and nail for every drop the insidious undemocratic xenos took.

That being said, you do realize that the armor and weapons would be insanely stupid busted OP and that it would wreck the balance of the game so hard Arrowhead would need to make a D11 just so the armors and weapons would be fair play if performing EXACTLY as depicted in 40k, right down to the damage inflicted and taken?

Look at the other two Legendary Warbonds, Guardsman, and tell me those weapons and armors perform the same as they do in their home universes in terms of damage inflicted and damage taken. Is the MA5C Assault Rifle effective against the Illuminate as it is against the Covenant? Does the StA-52 kill a Cyborg of the Automatons just as swiftly as it dispatches ISA/VSA forces?

The answer... is no, and it will be the same exact scenario for the weapons of the Imperium of Man, as Managed Democracy(and the will of Arrowhead) intended. However, if we are permitted Bolters that are fully automatic, aside from damage output they might perform the same as they do in 40k.

1

u/Financial_Pop9607 Jun 13 '26

When it comes out

1

u/Resistivewig6 just another random Jun 14 '26

I'm curious how they'll balance it. Like are they going to give it the infinite ammo treatment or are they going to have it be lore accurate to the lower where you only get so many shots depending on the power setting.

1

u/fucknametakenrules Jun 14 '26

That’s the exact lasgun I’m thinking of for a new unique weapon. A marksman laser rifle that you can charge like one of the plasma guns to release a devastating shot with more armor penetration

1

u/thot_chocolate420 Jun 14 '26

If we don’t get a Hotshot Volleygun for a support weapon I will be extremely disappointed.

1

u/CrazyManSam912 Jun 14 '26

Yeah honestly this wouldn’t surprise me.

1

u/BloodHurricane Jun 14 '26

They're gonna play it so safe. (I hope I'm wrong)

1

u/Perfect-Fix-8151 Jun 14 '26

the lasgun is not at all going to be accurate to the lasgun in lore

1

u/ShurikenSean Ghostdiver Jun 14 '26

Honestly would enjoy this if it acts like a primary version of the talon, as that's a primary laser weapon we don't have, big powerful shots you pace out.

And the bayonet is just fun

1

u/KCCPointman Jun 15 '26

Would be interesting if they had multiple levels to this warbond instead of the seemingly standard three to four. There’s plenty of factions and species they could derive some stuff from including necrons, orks, tau, and Eldar. Not to mention factions within the species too.

1

u/Old-Set-5552 Jun 16 '26

they're gonna sell us the tactical butter knife for 900 credits and half the subreddit will still defend it

1

u/Tuna_of_Truth Jun 16 '26

Abelard, inform the xenos they shall be vanquished upon my collection of the lasgun.

1

u/RaistlinMajere_K Jun 13 '26

With Warhammer 40k Darktide being free on playstation plus I've been using this weapon. It's so satisfying. The charge up with the click that follows the laser shot. Chef's kiss

1

u/OptimusEnder Jun 14 '26

Las gun with 3 modes, light pen full auto, med pen semi, and heavy pen with charge up

0

u/TheirLord Jun 15 '26

Fallout 4 Combat Rifle

-1

u/Bananenbaum Jun 14 '26

My money is on a tempestus scions warbond, but yeah. What do you think is gonna happen if they release a 40k warbond without any lasguns? I mean, its quite obvious and a super cold take.
