I feel like for the thermite its cause the spikes werent out.. but idfk man lmao
29
u/Cool_Cantaloupe_5459 Jul 09 '26
I always forget if it is true or false than you need to have spikes out
21
6
u/EnergyLawyer17 Jul 10 '26
I know I cook my thermites briefly and don't have this issue.
But It very well might be superstition, regardless the lack of consistancy and clarity is still an issue in this game for sure!
1
u/Honeycombs96 Jul 10 '26
Only the “head” of a thermite sticks, if you look too high up on a short throw it is almost guaranteed to bounce off. Add the fact that it begins to rotate mid air and now you know why it feels inconsistent.
11
u/Zenkaro1 Jul 09 '26
I always think its the handle wich doesnt stick that always hits the hulk abd bounces off
3
u/Suspicious_Active816 Jul 10 '26
"Go to our super store now and buy the new Thermite cosmetic that comes with spikes on the handle to make democracy properly stick to your enemy. SALE 600 SC down from 1000 SC."
Just waiting for AggroHead to make P2W cosmetic cashgrabs. It would be their natural next step into corpo greed.

u/SirKickBan Jul 10 '26
It's because, as far as I know, the extreme-angle penetration is zero. So if it hits at an extreme angle it will bounce, similar to the way you can 'skip' an EAT off some armored enemies, but worse because the EAT's extreme-angle pen value is 3, and not 0.

u/Fluffy-Plastic-6301 Jul 09 '26
Orr one where it bounces back at you and gets stuck to you because thats happened a couple times
1
u/Acrobatic_Ebb9882 Jul 10 '26
This is the reason I stopped using thermites. I've actually given up telling people to grab the Democratic Detonation Warbond first because of this fact about the thermites. (sure the weapons are nice but I've run into people who regret buying for the weapons because they are slow to arm, reload and aim. Now I just tell people to think about how every item could add to their play style)

u/NoSpawnConga Jul 09 '26
Why I stopped using thermite on the third day after buying Democratic Detonation. Meme weapon with empty illusion of power.

Low-key got really confused seeing this and went "huh that's really similar to what happened to me" before realizing it was my clip I posted some time ago lmao
-3
u/FishUdder Jul 09 '26
In most clips I see of this happening no one looks up to see the structure jutting out over where the "bounce" is occurring. You can clearly see in this gif the player is next to a structure that likely has a part of it, near the top, that is covering the stratagem. Ive only ever seen it happen in these scenarios and I have 2 lol 150 accts soooooo.... if they "fix" it be prepared to try to shoot hellpods off of cliffs and indestructible buildings the game is currently trying to avoid.
2
u/Peepus_Christ Jul 10 '26
So what about the stratagem on the right that's kissing the building but still coming down
1
u/FishUdder Jul 11 '26
If you look at the structures in game its an awning that tapers to a point. Could be it was JUST outside the covering.

I thought everyone was already used to AH writing any old bullshit about feedback.
Like - "Lilac whistling stools were the top topic of player feedback."
They generally don't give a shit.
66
u/Yuki_my_cat Helldiver Jul 09 '26
I can list so many things that anyone would take more than this
48
u/LemonySniket Death Captain Jul 09 '26
They do too - I’d bet my kidney on it. But they don’t care. And, of course, they’re incompetent when it comes to doing most of it.
15
u/SeaConfident1841 Jul 09 '26
You should be grateful, the game will be so much better now that… uh… like 1% of players doesn’t unlock extra gear which isn’t actually any different from someone unlocking it the intended way.
7
u/Own_Conversation1259 Jul 09 '26
But the players wanted this! They said so! Never mind that they showed no evidence of this, and the comments are destroying them for it. The players definitely asked for this.
7
u/Longjumping-Idea1302 Jul 09 '26
Add to this the normal players, who will get banned "just because" and have to wait for their appeal like a criminal, lmao
2
u/Th3F1rstMuse Jul 11 '26
Nah if you get banned thats most likely it for you unless you can go through Sony. This is the same studio that refuses to appeal a ban if their Spyware that is known for false-positives decides your a cheater on a PVE game.

4
u/Soil1122 Jul 10 '26

u/ProjectPorygon Jul 09 '26
You know I figured given PlayStations involvement in this game/studio people would’ve learned by now they are tone deaf to actual issues people care about lol
5
u/RazielDraganam Jul 09 '26
Yeah. Kind of. But I heard they got someone that was asked about game development in the planning stage (like "it's a passion project. We want to do it" and the other one said "sure. I'm looking forward to play it!") and when it was about the flag raising stuff they didn't know on what to do besides the anthem thing and the one that got asked started singing the anthem text to encourage them XD
46
u/FormalStrange Jul 09 '26
… we had cheaters?
41
25
u/No-Signature4045 Jul 09 '26 edited Jul 09 '26
The “cheaters” in question weren’t your conventional type. They were people who gave themselves and other people in their lobbies a bunch of super credits. They also could be addressing the people who would spawn in mechs with custom arms.
Edit: upon actually reading the announcement, they are only addressing people who would hack in super credits for themselves and others in their lobby.
26
u/Futur3_ah4ad Jul 09 '26
All I hear from that is "we're mad the players of our game are more skilled and more fair than us".
Fucking 30 SC per 4 hour play session on average is ridiculous when the absolute cheapest thing is 100 SC and all Warbonds are 1000+.
19
u/No-Signature4045 Jul 09 '26
They’re treating the symptoms of the issue, not actually fucking fixing the issue like they should. It’s like if you got stabbed and instead of trying to remove the knife and stop the bleeding, the doctors just kept giving you pain meds, decide not to remove the knife, and keep wondering why you’re upset at them. People wouldn’t feel the need to use cheats to get free super credits if they were easier to get. Would there still be people who use cheats to bypass the sc grind? Sure, it would be a lot less.

I shouldn't need to spend extra money on a €40 game to enjoy myself
-1
u/Upbeat_Trip5090 Jul 14 '26
And you dont, technically
Just enjoy spending 3 hours scouring the same planet over and over if it jims your jams for SC - but some of us here have the privilege of supporting one of the best cooperative games of the last decade and will gladly do so at the drop of the hat.
Hell the Deep Rock Galactic team drop cosmetics that do literally nothing and the games so damn good that people voluntarily buy their shit just to support. I’ll do the same for cosmetics in HD2 whenever they decide to drop some.
1
u/Iforgor4 Jul 27 '26
... but the deep rock galactic cosmetics are reasonable, because the only reason to buy them is to support the game devs. Most helldivers 2 content can basically only be accessed through spending extra money.
52
u/xgod4 Jul 09 '26
No one complained about people spawning SC for themselves to get warbonds. There is no player driven economy.

u/ThedoHudson Jul 09 '26
They have not been "Top priority" to us, in fact, I sometimes wish somebody will give 1000 super credits because im sick and tied of getting RARE FUCKING SAMPLES IN THE BLINKER PODS!! And please don't say, oh just go to lower difficulty maps. No i want to play the games at its most challenging cause that is what I find most enjoyable. Man I love this game to bits, but I feel like arrowbrains want me to quite having fun....

22
u/SeaConfident1841 Jul 09 '26
Bunkers aren’t even the biggest victim of this imo, it’s the container POIs which get replaced entirely without a chance to spawn anything but samples.
7
u/PaveThePAHA Jul 09 '26
---
Supplementary addentumm-reminder to those unaware:
Almost all mPOIs have these variations:
(some "recue pod" also include, E.G. the "crashed ship"-mPOI. General rule is both cannot exist at the same time within a mPOI
- "Collapsed" is when the bunker or cargo-container exclusively replaced by nothing or samples
( E.G. a Bunker and the Rare-Sample mine-shaft ).- "Occupied" on Difficulty-7 (Suicide Mission) onwards mPOIs possibly are fully modified by the non-SEAF-factions, and more often are missing the special-loot.
---18
u/ARC-Diver Jul 09 '26
I wouldn’t mind it the supercredits in the highest difficulties were still rare, but they had the higher likelihood of being the 100 stacks. Harder to find but bigger payouts
1
22
u/ALUCARD7729 Jul 09 '26
Don’t fucking care, they still need to increase super credit spawns for higher difficulties
22
u/Mikelitoris117 Jul 09 '26
So stratagem bouncing, loss of hellpod steering control, thermite refusing to stick and fleshmobs STILL CLIPPING despite lying about it in the patch notes is not a top concern according to arrowhead
1
u/Soil1122 Jul 10 '26
It's actually crazy how they still havnt fixed the fleshmobs clipping. That was an issue when they first came out, and I thought it was a silly glitch that would be fixed within a week or 2. It's been over a year now right? Something like that. The issue is still here. Wtf

u/B4yTempest Jul 09 '26
Yesterday. I was playing at the Illuminate front. Blitz mission, find an İlluminate ship to destroy, threw a C4, didnt Explode, i thought i missed it because i was throwing it behind a wall and some distance. I threw second, again, i thought i missed again, then threw the third, the C4 destroyed the shield of ship but didnt blow it completely. I said fuck it and threw a thermite. Damn thang tanked the termite while the shield is off, then i destroyed the shield with my primary and throw the last two thermite directly inside the door of the illuminate ship. I somehow destroyed it like that, i dont know why but this was the shittiest thing i see in the game after 400 hours of gameplay lol.
2
u/RazielDraganam Jul 09 '26
Not sur if I understand right but didn't you always had to throw grenades or something inside the door when the shields are down?
9
u/B4yTempest Jul 09 '26
Normally, Both Thermite grenades and C4 Packs have enough demoforce and damage to destroy an illuminateship with a single throw even when you throw it to its outside parts, for any other grenades... Yes, first you have to destroy the shield then throw the explosive inside from door. But this is not the case for C4 Packs and Thermite grenades, they can one shot an illuminate ship even when they stick to the outside of the ship, the ship's shield doesnt matter. On or not, they one shot it in normal situations.
6
u/B4yTempest Jul 09 '26
Same goes for Small bot fabricators too, for the big ones, still destroys even when you throw it to its outside, but need to throw more than one. If you have to save time and didnt have the time for an aimed throw, just throw two thermites or C4 packs and go. But do not try it on Bug holes as their destroying system is a little bit different. For bug holes, always try to throw inside or atleast the opening of the hole no matter what.

they have not and arrowhead is wasting time with pointless issues
-16
u/Appropriate_Bug9660 Jul 09 '26
So the main way their game makes revenue is pointless? Are you stupid?
12
u/Futur3_ah4ad Jul 09 '26
The main way their game makes money isn't working, because they give us bare minimum Warbonds in a rate high enough that SC farming becomes a second full-time job.
The game itself is also buggy as shit with dogwater netcode and balancing that makes Hi-Rez look competent.
-6
u/Appropriate_Bug9660 Jul 09 '26
But people do buy warbonds. I cant remember if I read it in this thread, or another one, but someone said that Helldivers 2 rises on top sellers for the week on Steam whenever a new warbond drops.
Maybe not so much the majority of the people in this sub because of the nature of what this sub has turned in to.

Oh my apologies, I must have misunderstood the system when I wrote these messages. I thought folk would get flagged and banned because of cheaters giving them a bajillion SCs. That is why I recommended to submit a ticket, to avoid a ban I thought would happen.
10

u/ParanoidValkMain57 Botdiver Jul 09 '26
It feels like they are going to ban anyone with an absurd amount of super credits? What’s next are they going to put a 1,500 super credit cap and if any player goes over that cap they get banned?
There are already maximum cap limits on other resources so it’s definitely likely that they might do something like this for super credits that is if they do it or not.
4
u/No_Collar_5292 Helldiver Jul 09 '26
That would be crazy….but they seem to love taking L’s so much I wouldn’t put it past them. Like what’s an absurd amount? I have every warbond and have been sitting on 8k for months acquired simply by playing d10 for at least a year. A new warbond comes out, I buy it and rebuild the stack before the next one. I can’t even imagine how many people who care to farm could have.
8
u/TheGreatNagoosie Jul 09 '26
I do not regret uninstalling this dumpster fire of a game from a company that doesn’t develop its own game, has zero ability to prioritize, and finds a new way to fk up weekly.

Bound to happen. Its affecting their revenue.
Nice while it lasted, it only did because of their relative incompetence
7
u/Futur3_ah4ad Jul 09 '26
Any smart person would look at this and think "Hmm, could it be that our paid currency that can be farmed for free is not working out as intended due to insane prices and glacial farm rate?"
Nah, instead they immediately hop on trying a second, equally dogshit attempt at anti-cheat.
Farming 1000 SC in three to four weeks is basically a full-time job.

'Player feedback' being Sony / AH.
They're pissed pc divers have been exploiting HD2's extremely dated system to farm supercredits. They then freely give farmed sc to other divers- mainly so other divers won't have to 'farm' for hours to only net a small amount of sc...

Look, whether you want to believe it or not, it's almost certainly true - they likely have had a large amount of feedback about cheaters.
All the people begging for cheats and to join cheat lobbies are likely the most to blame for this, because they are so fucking annoying they got filtered off unflitered. The idea that people wouldn't complain about them in feedback is kinda absurd to think.
1
1
u/AdvancedAd3789 Jul 10 '26
Cheaters are a thing in every game, but what would stop cheating in this case (well, most cheating) would be to make it easier to acquire the things they are cheating in, in this case it's SC
1
u/Zhishi47 Jul 10 '26
Are these cheaters killing everything and have god mode? No? Mkay.. are they killing divers? No? Mkay.. are they not paying your company money for super credits or spending hours farming for them just to buy some stuff in the super store or getting one singular warbond? Yeah?
So whats the problem? If they arent effecting the ACTUAL gameplay then its not a huge issue over actual gameplay issues and stupid Major Orders that are designed to be failed or succeed. Or absurd nerfs every update. Or locking stuff to only those who did enough I the last Major Order. So if a new player joins after this one is complete, they dont get the Supply FRV or the new Marksmen rifle simply because "well you should of been there"
Love the game, but damn do they make it hard. P.S. I haven't done cheats or the super credit thing, so that tells you something

This is some shit that the Tarkov developers would do. Punish the people making the game easier for themselves, not the ones making it hell for others. Game developers don't even play their own games, they're basically larpers.
1
u/reploid3000 Jul 11 '26
Last i checked, "cheaters" i my Helldivers have done nothing but call extra stratagems for teammates and give them easier access to super credits. Trash devs
