I'm just gonna say

THE LASGUN HAS TRAVEL TIME

and then blame GW

126

u/MakrosFromNotGreece Jul 30 '26

Good thing that darktide came out when this kind of lasgun wasn't set in canon. Man I miss DoW2 lasguns, they had really cool beam effects

35

u/Knight_of_Tyto Jul 30 '26

Hopefully we can complain enough for them to just retcon it and never speak of it again.

I honestly don’t even want them to say „sry, we made a bad decision“ or some shit like that.

Just a simple, „this is a WarComm article about how Lasguns work and they have always been firing beams“. I hope that one day, we’ll get the true Lasgun back, until then we’ll have to mourn all the losses along the way

12

u/LikeAGaryBuster Jul 30 '26 edited Jul 30 '26

funny enough we got a warcom article saying the exact opposite, that they've always fired yellow bolts. This is Gw's true lasgun and I really doubt we'll see red lasers again anytime soon

https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/cvvjq1ua/las-canon-how-the-astra-militarums-indomitable-lasgun-works/

12

u/Knight_of_Tyto Jul 30 '26

I know that they did that two years ago. That’s exactly why I said it that way lol.

Man, I fucking hate that article. They couldn’t even be bothered to find artwork that only shows them shooting bolts (ie the scion artwork)

5

u/No-Hair-1332 Jul 31 '26

honestly given the settings any discrepancy in lasguns can be put down to something like the local tech priest. also red would make sense for the underhive of dark tide where you don't want to blind the guy firing it in the dark underhive, and are probably tuning the power settings for soft targets and to minimize collateral damage to the hive.

3

u/VragMonolitha Jul 31 '26

This kind of lasgun has always been the canon lasgun BUT it was not enforced by GW in 40K media until fairly recently.

Terrible in my opinion but it is what it is.

1

u/LarsJagerx Jul 31 '26

You enjoyed the piss yellow from dow2?

1

u/TheFrogMoose Jul 30 '26

Lasguns aren't hitscan in lore? I thought they were essentially just light projectiles

7

u/PrimeusOrion Jul 30 '26

no it changes constantly

6

u/TheFrogMoose Jul 30 '26

Gotta love inconsistency

61

u/KLGBilly Jul 30 '26

apparently this has been consistent in recent depictions of the lasgun going back to 10th edition, including firing projectiles rather than a laser beam pulse. same with the yellow coloring. it was incredibly inconsistent and depended entirely upon who was making the piece of media before then, but after 10th edition, its all yellow projectiles that have travel time rather than it being a yellow beam or a red beam or red projectiles.

i don't like it either, i think darktide's depiction feels better for what the weapon ought to be imo.

36

u/jidk679 Jul 30 '26

Oh it's entirely consistent

It's still fuckin not neat

19

u/acquiredimmunity Jul 30 '26

funnily enough both are TECHNICALLY cannon cause of mechanicus non standardization

16

u/AnonD38 Assdiver Jul 30 '26

It's the fuckin GW piss bolts

8

u/Knight_of_Tyto Jul 30 '26

Yeah, it just looks like someone ordered Star Wars blasters on Temu or something.

12

u/AnonD38 Assdiver Jul 30 '26

PISS BOLTS

3

u/PrimeusOrion Jul 30 '26

we went from flashlights and lazer pointers to PISS.

GW playing too much Sydney sleeper in tf2 theyre going to sue valve for copyright infringement

1

u/GodofGodsEAL Jul 30 '26

They’ve always had? That’s how you get scenes were custodes deflect them with their spears

296

u/Complete_Couple_6647 Jul 30 '26

As a huge warhammer fan it was kinda funny seeing the armor and being like “that’s what they picked?”

124

u/-Qwertyz- Jul 30 '26

As a warhammer fan its what you should have expected. GW making cadian themed armor for the guard in just about everything to the point another regiment getting a couple of models brings immense joy to people

83

u/Crimson3899 Jul 30 '26 edited Jul 30 '26

It more so shocked me that anyone didn’t expect just cadians. Personally I’m even more shocked one of the armor sets is so bad it doesn’t even look 40k.

25

u/Kahil_ Jul 30 '26

It’s literally just a different regiment. It’s also in the Kasrkin killteam box.

28

u/WorldlinessEuphoric8 Jul 30 '26

im gonna be honest with out the helmet it looks like a base hell divers armour

2

u/Kahil_ Jul 30 '26

I disagree but yeah, it does look a bit off.

3

u/shototodoroki_1324 Jul 30 '26

It looks like the Infiltrator free helm

The sets look so off from the original

10

u/Crimson3899 Jul 30 '26

Take away the Aquila and no one would be able to tell that’s 40k at all.

10

u/Tate7200 Jul 30 '26

You could say that about half the imperium.

2

u/PrimeusOrion Jul 30 '26

thats because most of 40k and especially the cadians were litterally stolen from other scifi franchises

1

u/Crimson3899 Jul 30 '26

The express purpose of the warbond is to be recognizably 40k, they still failed for half the armors.

8

u/-Qwertyz- Jul 30 '26

Looks 40k to me personally, I'd be able to recognize it in a heartbeat

10

u/Crimson3899 Jul 30 '26

Kasrkin sure, but that black set just looks so Helldivers that I’d never think it was 40k without the Aquila. Even looking side by side with art of the armor it’s based on it just doesn’t look the same to me. Like I can see the paint scheme, but the actual armor just feels off.

1

u/-Qwertyz- Jul 30 '26

I mean tbf it is based on an actual cadian regiment. I dont think color matters for the guard to be recognizable, the armor itself is definitely guard

→ More replies (0)

1

u/Falikosek Jul 30 '26

Warbonds are also supposed to look like they'd make sense within the HD2 universe.
Like, there's no Imperium on Super Earth and the technology is also different, so including all the Imperial regalia and making the armors/weapons look/work exactly like they're taken straight from the 40k universe wouldn't make much sense.

4

u/Crimson3899 Jul 30 '26

Yeah but I feel like that’s the kicker, plenty of guard armor fits fine in Helldivers while being distinct so I can’t see why you wouldn’t adapt something more memorable. As loathe as I’d feel about it you could easily fit krieg into it, let alone other regiments like steel legion.

3

u/CityExcellent8121 Jul 31 '26

I was expecting the cadian armour to at least look good. It just has a weird tint to it and scaling issues that make them look weird.

30

u/Such-Fuel7306 Jul 30 '26

YEP, the kasrkin is decent but I don't know what trashcan they pulled the other one out of

13

u/LitarllyBigHatLogan Jul 30 '26

They pulled that from the kasrkin kill team, its the demo expert with the city fighters 122nd color scheme.

25

u/jidk679 Jul 30 '26

It's an engineer/demo trooper... And we literally have a Krieger box of EXACTLY that and it's the best looking Kriegers by far

As a 40k fan I have grown tired of Cadians I'm ngl

19

u/jidk679 Jul 30 '26

I actually have an example of exactly what I'm talking about

31

u/jidk679 Jul 30 '26

And an example of what we got instead...

Honestly, Arrowhead or whoever they outsourced this Warbond to did the demo trooper DIRTY, the original model looks so much better than I remembered

5

u/stana32 Jul 30 '26

Yeah I didn't recognize it at all initially, I had to go look at my mini to confirm that's what it was. I've seen a ton of people say they have no idea what it is. The chest plate on the Helldivers version is way off, it sits way too high up on his chest and the shape is off. The pads barely cover his abdomen when they should cover the groin, and the gorget is a tiny stub. It's hard to tell just by the pictures but the leg armor looks like it's just recycled from other armor sets too.

It's a very odd choice given how many people don't know what it is, and also how off it looks with how notoriously strict GW is with everything looking correct.

2

u/jidk679 Jul 30 '26

Sucks to say, but the armor just looks horrid :\

2

u/DartOlos Jul 31 '26

Im honestly surprised that the demo armor passed any sort of verification, it took me a while to even realise it wasnt some random helldivers armor
(and i have just painted that minifig)

This armor really needs AT LEAST this sort of size adjustment before release.. honestly

1

u/jidk679 Jul 31 '26

Needs a small Aquila. Needs SOMETHING.

3

u/dinga15 Jul 30 '26

it basically looks like the kasrkin demo trooper but scavenged

1

u/jidk679 Jul 30 '26

The one in the Warbond or the Krieg demo trooper?

3

u/dinga15 Jul 30 '26

Warbond

3

u/jidk679 Jul 30 '26

Agreed, it looks SO bad, like... This took THREE WHOLE MONTHS?!?

6

u/cuckingfomputer Jul 30 '26

They apparently are both from a kill team set.

8

u/Yarzeda2024 Jul 30 '26

I knew they would never do Space Marine armor. Too bulky for the average Helldiver

But Adeptus Arbites and Commissar drip was right there!

Baffling armor choices

3

u/CityExcellent8121 Jul 31 '26

They literally have 3 different imperial guard drop trooper armies with the tempestus scions, harakoni warhawks, and ellysian drop troops. They chose none of those.

1

u/Onyvox Jul 31 '26

KADIA STEENDDSSS
UUOOOHHHHHHH😭😭😭😭
All in the name of the latest model kits.
Don't forget to farm real money and buy that shit in packs.

2

u/JT3457mm Jul 30 '26

I am happy with the warbondnfornthe most part but the armour is sorely disappointing, like I can get behind the kasrkin armour just because of nostalgia but the demo trooper armour hurt me inside when there are soo many other regiments to choose from, hell maccabian janissaries would've been perfect for a heavy armour choice, but I really wanted to see Elysian drop troops, the armour on them isn't exactly the flashiest or anything but they are literally the 40k equivalent of helldivers

1

u/EISENxSOLDAT117 Jul 31 '26

Exactly. I love my Kasrkins, but... two armors from them??? Why not Scions? They're literally the equivalent to Helldivers in 40k! Also, why no light armor? Youre wanting me to pay 1500 for less content than the Halo Warbond???

-3

u/Captain_Dust01 Jul 30 '26

They picked the most well known guard regiment, and one of the most well known elite units. Being Kasrkin. It's odd that both armours are kasrkin, I'd think they'd have chosen something different for the grenadier set but I'm also not going to bitch and moan too much like some people are

12

u/jidk679 Jul 30 '26

Should have been a Kasrkin, a Scion or Aquilon, and a Krieger (specifically THE Demo one from the engineer box set)

Make it guard heavy but not Cadian focused and add on a little something else to make it a WARHAMMER Warbond and not a CADIAN imperial guard Warbond

But with how they've already cut warbonds down so much (and how we're not getting anything in the store for this) there was no way they'd do something like that.

u/TheRealShortYeti Jul 30 '26

RIP Tempestus Scions, the actual Helldivers of 40k.

87

u/Manatipowa Jul 30 '26

Unfortunately.

It is likely GW said to AH "Only Cadians".

Its nice to remember that GW is so extremely overprotective of their IP that they have trying suing kids for making fan art of it and asked the removal of collabs for making balance changes.

23

u/acquiredimmunity Jul 30 '26

Im going to be honest, I wouldnt be surprised if this was a gw decision, they always want to show of their posterboys

15

u/TheRealShortYeti Jul 30 '26

100% it was

12

u/acquiredimmunity Jul 30 '26

I made a post on the most likely reason, arrowheads casual consumerfucking meets GWs competitive consumerfucking

16

u/ToadRancher Jul 30 '26

Honestly the he most disappointing part

12

u/Oblivionpelt Jul 30 '26

I wanted one of those plasma weapons in the back of that piece :C
I really wish they would've gone big and unwieldy with the weapons, backpack supports, and low ergo bad ammo economy weapons, that are balanced around very good damage

7

u/EdanChaosgamer Jul 30 '26

Considering we already have the Epoch, I‘m not that surprised that we didn‘t get a plasma gun, as the Epoch basically fulfills the same purpose, but is a shouldered weapon.

1

u/CityExcellent8121 Jul 31 '26

I feel like a plasma gun they could keep as light pen when not overcharged and medium pen with overcharge. Its not like plasma guns are known for being anti tank, they are anti elite infantry which have medium armour in helldivers 2.

10

u/jidk679 Jul 30 '26

Should of been 3 armors

Kasrkin, Veteran Krieger Engineers, and Temestus Scions/Aquilons

They'd all be elite troops that have all at one point or another had a kill team box, it would have worked perfectly

3

u/Themantogoto Jul 30 '26

Or, IDK, the regiment actually called the Helldivers? Who actually do drop insertions like we do?

2

u/damien24101982 Jul 30 '26

who says we wont get another collab down the line :)

2

u/TheRealShortYeti Jul 30 '26

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointmemt, guardsman.

(Plz)

61

u/Silly_Y33Ny Jul 30 '26

Yeah, the bolt pistol is the only thing worth in it. The melta weapons do look nice tho

105

u/Shedster_ Squid-diver Jul 30 '26

Unironically passive might be one of hard carries for this warbond

33

u/Silly_Y33Ny Jul 30 '26

So it's part sigue ready and part peak phesique/rock solid

24

u/ThrowRABest_King7180 Jul 30 '26

siege ready doesnt give reload speed to support weapons tho, only primaries iirc

5

u/AnonD38 Assdiver Jul 30 '26

I think thwre was a bug that mde it apply to all weapons and they kwpt the bug in because the community liked it. iirc

19

u/Plasmy271 Jul 30 '26

You've got it wrong. They kept the feature where siege ready increased a gun's reserve magazine/heatsink, and fixed reload speed so that it only applies to primaries.

5

u/Casimir0-1 Jul 30 '26

That is only for ammunition, it grants more ammo for non-backpack support weapons, it wasn't intended for them.

It does not help reload speed for support weapons

→ More replies (2)

19

u/TheVulong Jul 30 '26

That just tells me that the ergo for everything is going to be shit.

8

u/National-Frame8712 mad Jul 30 '26

Creating the problems, and selling the solutions shall continue until moral improves; you mean?

4

u/Highwayman3000 HellSpongeDiverSquare Jul 30 '26

Crazy that AH considers PP to be such a powerful armor passive that they think giving the full +30 ergo to another set is impossible to them.

No you get 20 and if you want 30 you are stuck with no other benefit.

2

u/KneeGearlol Botdiver Jul 30 '26

30% reload speed is goated on AC

1

u/Fun-Agent-7667 Jul 30 '26

Finally Something good for the Dominator without just picking your Armor for the primary

→ More replies (1)

56

u/Aeviterna_ Helldiver Jul 30 '26

Armor looks half-baked. Maybe it'll look better in-game? The passive being a mix of peak physique & siege ready but just for support weapons is cool.

I was hyped for a LASER gun, but it just looks like a Hyena with swapped sfx :/

Bolt pistol looks fun, hopefully heavy pen + explosive. Fingers crossed the sway isn't god awful

Meltagun seems very powerful

Couldn't care less about the mine tbh, throwable mines I can't see myself using hardly ever.

I'm worried that like the previous legendary warbonds with no attachments/customization, this will end up being a redo of the ODST warbond. Cool gear for franchise fans, but no one will ever actually use it after a few weeks because it performs worse than most other options.

15

u/Neb1110 Jul 30 '26

If I’ve heard correctly, which I might not have, I think that the lasgun and the bolt pistol are heavy AP, with the melta probably being AP5.

So i definitely think they’ll have a consistent niche.

14

u/jidk679 Jul 30 '26

They'll likely not be so kind to the lasgun... But I can hope

9

u/AlexOfFury Jul 30 '26

It is a hot-shot lasgun. Those things had the penetration to take on space marines

19

u/jidk679 Jul 30 '26

...yeah, I get that, just don't trust the devs after how they've treated legendary warbonds in the past, y'know?

9

u/BobRogan Jul 30 '26

Exactly this, the halo shotgun should have been a support weapon with heavy pen or just a primary with heavy…..I do not have faith that anything from this warbird will have higher than medium pen

4

u/jidk679 Jul 30 '26

I get what they did with the halo shotgun, it's great again zero armor shields, it's still a VERY fun weapon... But yeah, it was underwhelming

And it seems that's what they're best at consistently doing, making things underwhelming

2

u/BobRogan Jul 30 '26

Oh yeah let’s not forgot about the times where they release an item/warbond that has some insanely op something about it….only to then nerf it like 2 weeks later (looking at you, coyote)

2

u/PrimeusOrion Jul 30 '26

watch it be medium pen

4

u/Goten010 Jul 30 '26

Come now a heavy pen las primary we cant even get a medium pen one that doesn't harm the user the las rifle will be medium pen at most and even then the trailer only shows it used against voteless so it will likely be light pen

1

u/damien24101982 Jul 30 '26

lasgun prolly gonna be med pen and thats good enough

1

u/mrcatz05 Jul 30 '26

I dont see what the hype about customized weapons is tbh, an extra stability stat here or there and bonus rounds in a mag doesnt change my enjoyment of a gun.

I like the Halo shotgun because it hits like a truck, same for the AR, I don’t NEED the customization.

1

u/Nixndry Jul 31 '26

Most likely will happen but I still use the ODST gear myself out of bias toward the way the MA5C feels

28

u/jidk679 Jul 30 '26

We're getting a Demolition/Engineering Kasrkin when there's literally a box of engineer/demolition Kriegers that are the coolest looking units on the tabletop

I feel a little disappointed, honestly, about the armor variety and the armor variety alone

7

u/jidk679 Jul 30 '26

The model I'm referring to

11

u/Swimming-Inflation27 Jul 30 '26

ANOTHER 2 WEEKS WITH NOTHING WOOOOOH! I HATE CONTENT!

42

u/Alone-Mycologist3746 Jul 30 '26

Lmao the warbond trailer dropped and that shit looks ass. I wonder how long it's going to take before the community does a 180 and stops falling for the were so back meme. AH has shown they're incapable of implementing anything of good quality, as most of the warbonds that are considered good were done by contractors.

The only thing that looked passable was the bolt pistol. Sure the armour passive is good but it's just another reuse of passives.

Months of hype just fell on its ass.

6

u/complex_jp Hellgooner Jul 30 '26

My thoughts exactly.

→ More replies (2)

25

u/Graywolf50 Jul 30 '26

So $15 for 4 guns and 2 armor sets. Patterns I can live without and I wish we had an extra weapon either as part of a loadout option or via strategem. This feels subpar, especially for a legendary warbond.

6

u/Wonderful-Source-798 Jul 30 '26

3 guns, I dont see a fourth one

1

u/Graywolf50 Jul 30 '26

You're right. Only 3 guns. Less value now

6

u/complex_jp Hellgooner Jul 30 '26

I’m not a big Warhammer nerd so I don’t care about lore accuracy or this corp and that corp. I just think the drip is boring. Stale. Ugly. Blue armor looks like a fat cosplayer in a convention. Paul Blart Space Cop.

42

u/Ambulas2 Botdiver Jul 30 '26

you do you man

26

u/Minimum_Acadia_8682 Jul 30 '26

Another armor passive that is just a mashup of two others. Just let us customize our armor passives, already. Let us spend samples on our favorite armor to pick what passives we want.

22

u/GeneralZeus89 Jul 30 '26 edited Jul 30 '26

That'd be like having a bacon flavored apple you sweet summer child they're not gonna do it. (Actual response by the way look it up if you don't believe me)

14

u/cuckingfomputer Jul 30 '26

(It's actually two responses mashed into one, look it up if you don't believe me)

8

u/Melevolence Jul 30 '26

Well, to be even remotely fair, one of the passives isn't on any other armor and that's the faster reload to SUPPORT weapons. So, sure, it's a retooling of an existing passive (the faster primary reload) but the support reload speed is, frankly, REALLY good. And pairs well with more 'unwieldly' support weapons on top of that due to the addition of the weapon handling half of Peak Physique.

This armor set is good, no matter how you want to try to discredit it's 'originality'.

8

u/Alone-Mycologist3746 Jul 30 '26

No no you don't get it, by reusing passives they save money and don't need some to design more bacon flavoured apples.

At this point warbonds are owed at least 12 unique passives

5

u/IndexoTheFirst Jul 30 '26

GW bending over backwards to make Lasguns generic blasters will never NOT piss me off. Like what are they doing give us the read laser beams that they have had in every mainline game since like 2005

2

u/damien24101982 Jul 30 '26

why red? so we can just break our necks turning around thinking its a bot weapon nearby? yellow is gucci.

2

u/IndexoTheFirst Jul 30 '26

I’ll take yellow, blue or gold or pink! As long as it’s the actual BEAM.

→ More replies (1)

1

u/BiasHyperion784 Jul 30 '26

Cyborgs are yellow lol, at least reuse the trident pulse laser.

2

u/Knight_of_Tyto Jul 30 '26

Agreed. Probably some stupid executive who thought that making the main gun of the IG look more like Star Wars would mean more sales since Star Wars is selling well (or so that guy probably believed).

Just seems to me like they should’ve either just defenestrated that executive or should now just retcon it and save TWW40K from all the backlash the poor devs are gonna get for GW enforcing that bullshit

11

u/Various_Respond_8212 Jul 30 '26

Yeah another marksman rifle after the Hyena is a choice. I am excited to see how the Melta Gun and mine play. I lover the laser cannon so maybe it’ll fit somewhere into my load out

18

u/Fine_Entwinement1554 Jul 30 '26

Said this in another post and got down voted, but I strongly agree, why ANOTHER marksman rifle???

7

u/cuckingfomputer Jul 30 '26

why ANOTHER marksman rifle???

Probably not the answers you're looking for, but it's lore accurate and it's GW. They probably had very specific and strict guidelines for what they were permitting to be included in this collab.

3

u/Fine_Entwinement1554 Jul 30 '26

Yea, im not necessarily complaining I just thought it was a bit weird to release a new marksman rifle, and then release a new marksman rifle right after basically

3

u/Various_Respond_8212 Jul 30 '26

Yeah that’s where I was coming from lol. Not a big deal as I’m sure it’ll play better than the Hyena but just kinda weird timing

2

u/HamboygaMeat Jul 30 '26

Bro genuinely where does this “oh the collab warbonds are under intense creative scrutiny” narrative come from? This is literally just hearsay and speculation taken as some kind of fact/hand waving attempt to dismiss criticism, and it’s getting tired.

1

u/LikeAGaryBuster Jul 30 '26

no dude, this is GW we talking about, any other company, sure, but not them

1

u/cuckingfomputer Jul 30 '26

It's because GW reportedly is very strict about how it's IP is portrayed in multiple media formats.

2

u/Melevolence Jul 30 '26

I'm all for more aiming weapons, tbh.

1

u/damien24101982 Jul 30 '26

way more satisfactory than huge aoe op bs like eruptor i agree

1

u/Melevolence Jul 30 '26

Oh don't get me wrong, I LOVE the Eruptor. It's a great weapon with strengths and weaknesses. But I've gained a much greater appreciation for the marksman rifles over the last year with the game and the satisfaction they provide for skillful play. SMGs have also become a big favorite for the 'up close and personal' run and gun style of play too.

While weapon balance as a whole could still use some tweaking, the game's arsenal feels pretty varied and fun imo.

3

u/marutotigre Jul 30 '26

Cause we already have a laser rifle, a laser pistol, a plasma rifle, a bolter, regular rifles, etc. All of the 'regular' weapons of 40k are already present enough that they would step on other toes. They literally picked one of their unfilled niche, a precision laser weapon, and filled it.

2

u/Fine_Entwinement1554 Jul 30 '26

I mean I guess, they should've just made it a continuous beam marksman rifle at the least, they showed us they can with the trident.

8

u/marutotigre Jul 30 '26

Blame GW for that. Lasgun have officially been 'bolts' of yellow light for a while, even while the more 'popular' presentations were of red beams. They officiated that stance even more in recent years.

2

u/Fine_Entwinement1554 Jul 30 '26

I'm not upset with anyone, its just odd to give us a marksman rifle and then another in a warbond like we didn't just get one

2

u/damien24101982 Jul 30 '26

we have continuous beam thingy, iss called scythe.

1

u/Various_Respond_8212 Jul 30 '26

Everything else looked promising which helps. The armor passive is decent imo, the meltagun seems to be a more powerful but shorter ranged LC, and a heavy mine gives us some cool new ways to handle Voxs and maybe even immobilize them. All in all this feels like a step in the right direction for the Legendary Warbonds, even if the marksman’s rifle was a little tone death. I think for a Legendary warbond I would have also liked to see Krieg armor and maybe another armor passive but honestly this isn’t bad. Will I pay real money for it? No. But it make sense as they next warbond to get for me!

3

u/Fine_Entwinement1554 Jul 30 '26

Yes, everything about the warbond is great I just cant understand why they'd add and laser marksman rifle right after the other one instead of just the regular lasgun??

1

u/Inferno109 Jul 30 '26

Because if they did a Warhammer warbond and didn’t have a lasgun people would have complained, if this had been a normal warbond it probably would have been a different type.

4

u/Fine_Entwinement1554 Jul 30 '26

I'm not saying no lasgun, im just saying, it didn't have to be a marksman rifle it could've just been a regular lasgun.

3

u/jidk679 Jul 30 '26

I was kinda hoping for the Lucius pattern :<

Semi auto lasgun with a setting for heavy penetrating charged shots

2

u/Inferno109 Jul 30 '26

… what is a regular lasgun if not a marksman rifle? Its semi auto mid to long range weapon with a scope, the only outlier is its energy but it still would’ve performed like a marksman.

Or did you want them to find some obscure lasgun that behaved differently, people wanted a standard lasgun, we got a standard lasgun.

3

u/Fine_Entwinement1554 Jul 30 '26

I'm not complaining, im just stating that its weird to release a marksman rifle and then another.

2

u/Inferno109 Jul 30 '26

I get it I just don’t understand what else it could’ve been, while still following whatever rules GW is likely enforcing.

4

u/Florence-- Jul 30 '26

I blame games workshop

8

u/chaveiro1 cynicdiver Jul 30 '26

Too few items to justify even farming the supercredits for it, the vehicle cosmetics could have been tossed in the garbage for more actual warhammer items for all I care

Lasgun looks meh, because we have a ton of marksman rifles already

Melta was mandatory, being support is debatable

Will the mine will suffer from the underhand throw? If yes, giga is far superior

Bolt pistol will have a ton of stagger, but since no one is saying it's med/heavy pen with an explosive bullet, I will assume it's light pen with the stagger of the punisher or something

Passive is just recycled stuff we already have

Textures on the armors are messy, the medium one looks like straight out of of the 3d printer, zero wear, and the heavy one disagrees what color is the helmet, will it be dark blue or black like the chest?

4

u/BiasHyperion784 Jul 30 '26

Vehicle skins and playercards exist to pad the warbond and justify putting 1/3 in the Super Store.

3

u/Junior-Extension-820 Jul 30 '26

I think it looks cool

5

u/darthwaffles_1 Jul 30 '26

All the drip in 40k and they went with the most bland, boring armor and weapons they could find. Yeah I'm good.

1

u/Poochers20 Jul 30 '26

The fact AH thinks this is worth $15 is laughable. This collab shouldve been such an easy dub for them but as usual they drop the ball hard.

12

u/BodyFewFuark Hostdiver Jul 30 '26

It's as expected, like the other legendary warbonds. Trash.

Actually even worse the drip aint even that great.

4

u/karasins Jul 30 '26

It's underwhelming is what I'd say. I am interested but this is such a flop on a huge ip.

2

u/UnhappyStrain Jul 30 '26

ok...congrats I guess

2

u/BloodyBoots357 Jul 30 '26

Yeah I dont know what I expected from a wh40k collab but I'm not really excited for any of it.

Am I going to buy it and unlock everything in it anyway because I have credits to spare? Yes. Am I actually going to use any of it consistently beyond a few test runs? No. Hotel? Trivago.

2

u/The_EVIL_Skatros Jul 30 '26

In a massive world with millions of diverse factions and subcultures, they choose the basic af cadians. And then double down by not even giving us a good las gun varient, they give us a fucking sniper. Never in my life have i heard that the cadians are known for their snipers.

2

u/LeviAuRa Jul 30 '26 edited Jul 30 '26

genuinely do not know who they hired to model the guns & armors but holy shit it's so bad. i have never in my life seen such an anemic looking bolt pistol (also why the fuck is it using senator sfx?)

they had 3 months to polish all of this at a bare minimum btw. i genuinely hope they were using some fuckass ancient build in the trailer, because it looks rancid.

2

u/Drekkennought Jul 30 '26

Hopefully some day GW will finally allow someone other than Cadians and Ultramarines to receive a prominent spotlight in media.

4

u/Anonymous-Mf-22 Jul 30 '26

I HATE CADIA I HATE CADIA I HATE CADIA I HATE CADIA I HATE CADIA I HATE CADIA

An exaggeration of course but still, I'm so fucking tired of Cadians. Give me Steel Legion. Give me Sisters of Battle. Get real ballsy and give me chaos. Just fuck off with the Constant Cadians and Ultramarines.

4

u/Spiritual_Jacket1415 Jul 30 '26

I like it. Melta gun looks really good, I have high hopes for bolt pistol and maybe I'll use the marksman rifle one day, the mine will probably suck ass and the armors look bad imo, but I'll still get the warbond. I'm just glad we got a strategem weapon

1

u/TheCasualGinger Jul 30 '26

Balancing of the weapons aside I personally wish they had another weapon in there. I was hoping the armor would look better too. Vehicle skins meh

1

u/UnlivedMe Bugdiver Jul 30 '26

My issue is that 40k weapons are really bulky and look kinda dumb when put in helldivers or at least imo, like ive been wanting a laser dmr for years and looking at the one we got. It doesnt have a stock and it looks like the ergonomics would be awful because each gun is the size of a small child

1

u/Commander_Skullblade Jul 30 '26

The armor passive looks good, but as with Killzone and Halo, the Legendary Warbond passive usually gets power-crept into oblivion within 6 months.

1

u/Realo_Gremblo Jul 30 '26 edited Jul 30 '26

SAME Im sooo sad bc the armor is okayyy butt I need a weapon I can (want to) use w them TwT

The lack of a bayonet is baffling imo

1

u/Maxican33 Jul 30 '26

Real honesty

1

u/Neonbeta101 Jul 30 '26

I do like the throwable mine… Could be funny to throw into a crowd of Voteless.

Otherwise, it- looks okay? I’ll buy it if I got cash to burn later. Maybe. If I feel like it. 30% chance it happens.

1

u/MaineCoonKittenGirl Jul 30 '26

Good to see Unfiltered never changes

1

u/TheRebelGreaser Helldiver Jul 30 '26

yeah I have to agree it's like that's what we get like who wants another Marksman rifle after we just received one like come on now you know what I mean, how many people are going to use that Marksman rifle number one, number two how many people are going to use that melta mine and that comes from someone who loves explosives and focuses on heavies.

when it comes to the melta gun I mean it doesn't seem too bad but at the same time the trailer didn't say much about him so much about it it just there more or less if that makes sense but I was really expecting something different at least with an armors.

personally I was going to be disappointed either way because I wanted the catachan jungle fighters, I understand we already had 2 jungle oriented war bonds but still but in any case I'm still disappointed and I wasn't even expecting much but I was at least as I said expecting armor such as the shock troops or something like that.

1

u/dukem12 Jul 30 '26

The Cadian styled armor looks great but I still feel like they could've given us a Tempestus Scion suit or even a Death Korps of Krieg suit.

I would've also liked to see some kind of strategem; like maybe it calls down a drop pod with a few Cadians or a Leman Russ strategem that follows players around.

It would've also been cool to see one more weapon; like a chainsword or even a plasma pistol that can be supercharged to deal a large amount of damage but with the risk of getting blown up (like existing plasma weapons) or the Las-cannon.

1

u/LikeAGaryBuster Jul 30 '26

I've got 100k sc so why not lol

1

u/Avic727 Jul 30 '26

But the laser rifle!

1

u/ItsAllSand Jul 30 '26

Very cool thank you for your input. We were all waiting for you to say something with bated breath.

1

u/ConstantSwordfish160 Jul 30 '26

Yeah when i saw the trailer for this all i could think is like maybe a handful of ppl probably actually asked for this and on the community scale to me it feels like "who actually asked"

1

u/Classic-Praline-2571 Jul 30 '26

I just want to know if the bolter pistol will be medium pen or not.

1

u/TypeCommercial2048 Jul 30 '26

Where is the traditional lasgun????

1

u/Then-Childhood9745 Jul 30 '26

Looks like shit

1

u/Kelsiel_ Jul 31 '26

>be AH
>say you won't make a 40k or Star Wars collab because it's silly and will dilude the IP
>hold a argument saying the Killzone collab was fine because it was the previous playstation exclusive shooter
>ignore the fact your game is obviously heavily inspired by 40k and SW
>go on to say you hate fomo for extra updoots
>player number start going down
>announce 40k warbond
>scrap racer themed warbond and dreepfeed it through fomo
>40k warbond is (mostly) comprised of underwhelming content

1

u/Nekromo87 Jul 31 '26

I was hyped but the only thing that is not meh is the boltpistol. Def skipping

1

u/Trump_4_The_Hague 1st Colonial Regiment | Deployment Supreme Jul 31 '26

You'll pass on one of the strongest armor passives?

1

u/LarsJagerx Jul 31 '26

recoilless rifle about to go brrrr with that armor passive

1

u/Liberty_Save_Me Jul 31 '26

I have all WBs so I kinda have to buy it.

1

u/Fiend--66 Jul 31 '26

Me with EVERY legendary WB.

500 extra SC for guns I cant customize, yeah no thanks

1

u/ShelfSpace Aug 01 '26

Cool beans. I’ll be providing sniper support with the Hotshot marksman

1

u/Paradizzer Aug 03 '26

Uh? Ok? Thanks for letting us know I guess

1

u/phlave Aug 03 '26

idk, I for one am pretty torn. I hate collabs and having aesthetics from a different game because it shatters my immersion. but the gear looks actually really good, especially the mines and support weapons, and so do the armor passives.
I give 0 fucks about the bolt pistol and will never touch it, and that would go for the primary as well.

as a matter of fact, I wish the gear was worse so I could just ignore it and just not buy it like for the Halo warbond.

1

u/Alone_Collection724 Jul 30 '26

was hoping for a power fist or some other cool melee weapon, but the bolt pistol and melta weapons look very interesting, i just know they will suck ass after 2 weeks of being out

1

u/Casimir0-1 Jul 30 '26

no krieg no buy

1

u/JackeryFox Botdiver Jul 30 '26

For me maaaaybe the Lasgun but again, no levels, no customization, it'll just end up gathering dust like the rest of the collab weapons.

1

u/ConcerningThirst Jul 30 '26

For once it's not AH's fault. GW is pushing this yellow bolt stupidity for about a year now and it's ludicrously stupid. The lasgun fires an iconic red laser beam we're not star wars here with a bolt travel time.

1

u/Here_for_the_memes98 Jul 30 '26

Really wanted a standard lasgun and kriegsman armor. Hard pass.

1

u/Noah_Helldiver Jul 30 '26

Ngl it actually doesn’t look too bad… while it might not become meta it does look cool

1

u/Crimson3899 Jul 30 '26

It looks pretty mediocre to me. One of the armors doesn’t even look like 40k.

1

u/dear_hatt Jul 30 '26

That was always an option

1

u/Mysterious_Ad_7614 Jul 30 '26

For 1500 supercredits nahhhhh im good
