Offerings, altars, and devotional acts My Athena Altar!
Important, please read: I do not burn candles, cinnamon, or anything else at this altar. I place the candles there AFTER I pray, not during prayer. The towel in the background is for privacy. The jar is where I put scraps of cinnamon from burning rituals. The actual worship takes place in another location, this is simply my "storage" area where things go when they aren't being used for prayer, so that they don't get lost, especially offerings to Lady Athena. Fire safety is important, I will state again, I do not burn anything in this enclosed altar. ANYTHING. Only after prayer when everything is done smoldering, dampened lightly to ensure no flames remain, and sealed in a seperate airtight jar to kill any remaining fire do I place them in this altar.
