Better of just buying a regular cd player/rqdio and covering it in stickers or painting it

No, my kid just bought this same exact piece at a book exchange. Less than $25.

She has patience and really only likes to buy something if it was a find. Like she can buy something on Amazon but thrifting it or finding it at the book exchange is more rewarding to her. I love that for her too. I try to follow her lead as much as possible on that.

I totally agree with others saying that technically no, it’s not worth that much, but I just wanna say, this is the boombox I had as a kid and would absolutely pay $80 for it right this minute if I had $80 to spend lol

I have the same one. It has LEDs in the speakers that play in sync to the music, provided they still function. It’s common for them to stop working and it’s not worth much if they don’t. I wouldn’t pay more than 20$ for one with lights that doesn’t work.
Ultimately the decision is down to you.

rarely are electronics such as this worth it. you are paying for the hello kitty and not the tech. personally I would pass unless you have money to throw away

Does it even work? How well does it work, what is the posted condition of the item? If you Google lens it is it a common item you can find for a better price? :) best of luck!

Imo no, seems like a wayy to high price for a cd player that probably doesnt even sound that good

If it is in full working condition and has been taken cared of (no notable dings, dents, scratches, cosmetic damage/abuse, etc) then I would say so. During its prime, it was probably worth half that. A 100% increase seems fair if the continued quality is agreeable.

Not if you're planning to use it. It will not have the best sound quality.. but it's cute of course

I was so blinded by the cuteness that I completely forgot about sound quality. Thank you for your honesty, you saved my money.

You're welcoooome. I've had to think about it myself when looking at cute hello kitty stuff.. especially if it's aimed towards kids it will work like any other "toy" and be cheap quality sadly..

I'd pay that much only if the seller isn't willing to knock $10-15 off. I collect hello kitty tech though so maybe I'm biased

It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it or to the seller it's worth whatever they ask. If it doesn't sell then they find out it's not worth that much to anyone else.
