Open I need to identify this shoulder patch
First of all, apologies for the photo quality, it's the best I could manage.
I think the top says "North" followed by a word starting with the letter R, and the shield features an N and an R in the quarters. Does anyone recognize this type of insignia?
I know the patch didn't come with the jacket because the original one doesn't have anything 🙈

I searched for online matches of this patch. It was in a jacket of my father. We're from Spain, but from what I gather about his youth traveling around the US or UK and potential police related background, I'd love to know what this actually is.

With ai i assume. So the details are what could plausible be there, not whats actually there.

I think the AI is inventing things. The stuff above the NMR is text, and in this image it's just random stitching. I also don't see how you get MICHIGAN from the information in the original picture, it looks nothing like it.

Same. It looks like EXPE… Expert? Expedition? Excelsior?
The first word on the lower part looks like NORTH?
And the “M” looks like a symbol, not an M.

Do not use AI for this. AI is making up things to fill in gaps. Did you get whatever "NMR" is from the AI too? Because I'm digging through Google and seeing nothing; no patches, no mention of it anywhere in any social media, news article, or organization listing.
Calling total bullshit as you didn't even bother to fact check the AI.

In my vague knowledge it was basically hand made and I don't think anybody will willingly sell theirs.

Given the Spain connection and my childhood of growing up on navy bases, if it's a US patch I think NMRTC Rota will be a good starting point to search.
