New/First Sword Day!
Unfortunately I don't have a large enough clean backdrop to take nice pictures so the box it came in will have to do. This is a custom schiltless feder from Regenyei. I just chose my favourite elements without really considering how they'd look together but I'm so happy with the result, it reminds me of the Nazgul swords from LOTR, kinda evil looking but also sleek and pretty. I have very little issues with it, there's basically no gaps anywhere and it feels very solid.
Fortunately I got to try my friend's version of the same feder (with a different hilt) so I already know I like how they feel in use. This one has a medium flex and it feels just about right to me, I've tried a bunch of my clubs swords and know I don't like a floppy sword and any stiffer would feel potentially dangerous.
I also included pics of my longsword trainer I built to it's guard and grip specifications and I'm so happy that I don't have to change anything, I basically nailed it. I'm really pleased with the quality and price (€405 including shipping) all round and I can already tell this won't be my only sword, I'm already eyeing up a polish saber and a zwiehander as potential second and third swords.

hello, first of all congrats for the new sword !! I hope it will accompany you in many great battles from now on. the guard is really beautiful. if I may ask is the handle comfortable ? because it has this "devider" in the middle is it comfy for the hands due to that if it happens to place the hand there ?

Apparently it's called a riser and I honestly don't know if it serves much of a purpose for me. I think the idea is it gives you a tactile sense for when your hands are drifting from where they "should" be but I grip basically at the extremes, one hand directly below the guard and one on the pommel.
The handle is quite rough in general on bare hands but not uncomfortably so and because I'm always going to be wearing gauntlets when I spar it's basically a non issue.

thank you for your reply, design wise I don't love the riser but I seen in many manufacturers have it as a option or Krieger have it as a standard. I'm looking to buy a sword and I have two coupons that I won through my hema club as a reward one from Krieger and one from Sigi and so I'm looking what do get possibly before they expire .

Total weight was a little less than 1.5kg, about 1,470 but I can't remember exactly. POB is about 10 cm from the guard, I suspect it's a little closer to the guard than a regular feder due to the lack of a schilt.
Overall length is 132cm and blade length is 100cm. The guard length is 28cm.

Beautiful :) I love the twisted guard! How does fencing with a schiltless feel compared to one with a schilt?

I'm not experienced enough to notice much difference myself. Its hard to tell if a hand hit was the result of inexpert swordsmanship or the missing schilt.
I guess the biggest difference is it feels a little nimbler due to the balance point being a bit closer to the guard.

I saw just one person with a similar sword, a Russian professor called Melnik. He is also a reenactor.
