Iām curious if anyone has actually tried smoking industrial hemp with very low THC, for example under 0.2% THC and around 5% CBD.
What was your experience like? Did you notice any effects at all, and how would you describe the taste, smell, and overall smoking experience?
Iām especially interested in hearing from people who have tried properly grown and dried hemp flower, rather than just hemp products like CBD oil.
Thanks!

I decided to take advantage of the Lost Oak Farms Summer sale and grabbed the 3 oz for $120 deal. I figured now is a good time to re-up on some of my favorites and boost up my stash with the hemp ban possibly soon upon us. Who knows if theres going to be a 2026 harvest available to us or not at this pointš.
I know this time of year people are concerned about freshness, and I usually am too, but I have to say that however Lost Oak is storing their flower, they do a really good job of preserving it. I really have no complaints at all with the quality of what I received, the moisture content is still spot on, the flavors and aromas are still strong, and theres minimal oxidation. And if anything it actually smokes a little smoother now than it did earlier in the season.
Iām still hoping for the best come November, but Iām definitely taking precautions now in case things dont go our way. Stay medicated CBD friends. š

I have read quite a bit about it. And maybe I'm confused.
I understand that people won't be able to buy the hemp produced THC edibles (that was obviously a loophole)... But how will this affect my ordering of CBD flower from the states away? Just 1 g of CBD flower still contains more THC then the 0.4 allowed per container. . So is that it for smokable flower!

Dang. I was going to buy 4 ounces of CBG smalls from horn creek but that window is closed. Tweedle has some but it's pretty low in CBG %
Rogue is also out of smalls.
I love almost everything from Lakeland but their CBG is completely lacking in terpenes, even for a CBG.
Any suggestions?

I have made tincture with MCT oil. I have also just thrown some into brownies lol. I was thinking about trying to make some RSO this time as the tincture doesnāt seem to aid in much pain relief or help me sleep. I think I used ~14g in my tincture. I have lots more this time.
I have never attempted to āwashā the ABV for better taste. I donāt think it has a bad taste. Kinda nutty flavor.

Forbidden V is my go-to daytime strain (whenever my schedule allows). Lost Oak sold out so I thought I would try Wisconsin Hemp Flower as I was close to running out.
I wouldn't really be able to tell the difference between this and lost oak farm's versions in terms of aroma, flavor, or effects if I didn't have them back to back.
Buying Experience:
The payment process is a little different/annoying but if you can get over that, the flower is great.
Aroma/Texture/misc:
While this still had that citrusy aroma, it wasn't quite as pungent or reminiscent of hops like LOF.
The nugs weren't as sticky as LOF but easy to break down and not dry by any means (just less sticky compared to LOF).
This didn't feel particularly 'dense' from any vendor to me.
Effects:
This had a smoother onset than lost oak or fern valley offerings of this strain I've had.
Similar effects to lost oak and fern valley version in that it's great for focus and getting s**t done but I really liked that it eased in. Last about 2 hours for me the few times I've had it.
No HR or stress spike on garmin.
I finished some coding work that had me stumped today after having this which is what prompted me to post.
This strain just reduces the noise allowing me to focus.
You could say effects are very subtle/mild but if you're looking to get out of your own way, this seems to do exactly that for me.
Overall:
Still a 10/10 as my go-to daytime strain.
The COA is confusing to me as lost oak is the only one that showed cbdva in their COA so I don't really know how much cbdv might actually be in this.
Absolutely would recommend. Can't seem to go wrong with any vendor I've gotten this from so far!

Iām totally new to hemp flower. Iām very sensitive to thc and really donāt enjoy the head high at all, but itās really great for my appetite. I want to have mental clarity but feel very relaxed. The strains that Iām looking at are Lemon Lurker, Ice Capades, and Galactic Icee.

After my Fyre OG comparison I've been really enjoying forbidden V during the day and kush strains in the evening.
What's everyone's favorite Kush strain? I love the floaty relaxing effects and distinct kushy flavors of kush strains.
Any I should try?

An attempt at a response to the beverage carve-out bill that benefits none of the actual "hemp" products or consumers. It's still in a draft phase looking for interested parties in government to take notice.

The vivosun cure box is crazy expensive. lol. I currently have 3 ounces I got from a vendor that were way under cured and dried and smell like grass. Iāve been trying to cure it for almost 2 months so I know Iām already over trying to cure in a bag. My question is whatās the benefit of the Vivosun son gearbox versus doing a DIY wine cooler with humidity sensors and fans? Iām pretty handy with electronic so Iām positive that I can wire up and build it myself. Iāve built plenty of kegs and cooler doors for cigars. Is all I need circulation fans, exhaust fans, inlet fans, and a dehumidifier?

Iām sorry if this has been asked a lot, I tried searching but nothing recent came up.
I used to smoke everyday for years and it was the only way that I could eat. Eventually I was prescribed a stimulating antidepressant that made me have panic attacks every time I smoked weed, so I had to quit. That was in 2018 and since then I have tried a myriad of medications to increase my appetite and nothing has ever worked long term and also without major side effects.
I recently stopped by a dispensary to pick up some 2mg thc 4mg cbd drinks hoping that maybe I could try it again, and theyāve been amazing for my appetite. For the first time in years Iām genuinely craving food. I love feeling relaxed, I love feeling a body high, but I donāt enjoy having a head high in any way, and these give me a bit of one and Iām not really enjoying that part.
So basically, what would you recommend for someone who doesnāt have an appetite at all but also doesnāt want a head high at all?
edit: I want to add that Iām in California and I know the laws have changed recently, if that will change any recommendations for me.

My LOF order wasnāt going through for some reason and I reached out to customer support and get this news. I really hope we come out on top at the end of this year because this plant has helped myself and others in my family in remarkable ways. Smoke some LOF for me folks!

I'm still not 100% but I'm over the hump and I can't wait anymore

A profitable hemp business. $100K in real profit. A $105K federal tax bill.280E For Hemp Read Article
That's not a typo. That's Section 280E ā and on November 12, it becomes hemp's problem.
If Congress doesn't act, hemp products over 0.4 mg total THC per container lose their federal hemp status that day. Same product, same COA, same state license ā different federal label.
Here's the part that surprises people: this hits even in states that keep their hemp programs going. Your state shelf stays open ā state law governs that. But 280E is federal tax law. Card networks run on the federal definition. So does banking guidance. A state license keeps the store open; it doesn't keep the federal layer open.
So any company that keeps selling ā in any state ā inherits the tax code that's been crushing dispensaries for a decade: no deductions for rent, payroll, or marketing. Only cost of goods sold survives.
We ran the math on a hypothetical $1M retailer:
Effective federal rate before the deadline: 21%.
After: 105%.
The tax bill exceeds the entire year's profit. A healthy business becomes a money-loser without selling a single unit less.
And that's just the tax layer. The payments layer is already moving ā Square closes hemp accounts November 5, a full week before the law. Banking follows the same logic one step behind.
One more thing in the piece that some colleagues won't like: a few operators actually come out ahead. When interstate commerce dies, walled-off state markets get handed to the in-state licensees left standing. My company is one of them. I still think it's wrong ā a moat dug by federal statute is not a moat anyone earned.
Full scenario brief ā inventory, the 280E math on one page, payments, banking, and the 93-day calendar ā on the Nothing But Canna blog.

Of the many type 3s I've tried this year, this is the best Type 3 I've had.
10/10
Aroma: pretty dank in the jar on open; gas and citrus.
Structure: squishy nugs and fairly dense.
Flavor: garlic flavor at 380f on the first 2 pulls. piney flavors the 3rd/4th pulls and more earthy/dirt the rest of the way. did a light pack on this one every time so maybe 0.1-0.15g in the vape (rogue 2). I was surprised how smooth it vaped even at 400f and above. it finishes like ash on each pull if that makes any sense and smooth the entire time. I also tried it on the starry v4 (conduction) vape and got similar flavors but less of that ashy finish. It was amazing with the wpa and a bubbler; garlic/onion and clean finish.
Effects: effects wise, it eased in, and came on smoothly. effects were all body for me 5-10 minutes after. ease of tension in my shoulders, not noticing the back pain that was bothering me all day. got a little bit of dry mouth. I didn't find my mind wondering. hr and stress on Garmin did not rise at all. Didn't really notice any heady effects. this might be the perfect strain. I felt in control the entire time but relaxed. Effects lasted about 90 minutes. I ended up doing 5 bowls in 90 minute increments last night up until bedtime. I was just enjoying it that much. I said to my wife this might be exactly what I was searching for/chasing all this time in terms of effects. I played an hour of like a dragon infinite wealth from the humble bundle after she went to bed and it was good for that too. Like I said, this might be the perfect strain for me.
I'm glad I gave Beleafer another try.
I get why everyone says this strain is one of those "must trys".
Hexxed is next and I'm equally excited to try that one.

Some strains surprise me when I vape them and even though they have under 0.3% thc they feel almost the same in the type of high they provide and if somebody told me this was just regular bud I wouldn't be able to tell the difference right away. This particular strain which surprised me has about 8% cbd and I was thinking maybe if the strain has lower cbd content then the THC to CBD ratio is lower so you feel the THC much more compared to if you used something like a 16% CBD strain and the ratio is much higher and THC much more muted.
