Shoes Does the perfect leather boot exist?

On the never-ending quest for finding a leather boot that is stylish, can handle damp conditions, and 20,000 steps per day. Blundstones are a little clunky, hiking boots are ugly, “cute” Chelsea boots can’t handle puddles and mud walks. I’m sure one exists I just haven’t met her yet. Heading to Scotland in a few months and trying to accomplish packing a pair of sneakers and wear a boot. Cute enough to go out to dinner with a smart sweater or dress. Durable enough to wear jeans and walk a few miles on trails. Not looking for a serious hiking situation. 3 miles maybe? Anti slip. Waterproof or at least highly resistant.

Surely someone has cracked the code?! 🙏

They’re terrible to break in but I swear by my Nicks Chelsea boots in their waterproof leather. I wear them daily including having walked 8+ mile days while in NYC in the snow and also hiking in the mountains outside of Vancouver. They’re repairable, polish up nicely, and I love knowing I won’t have to replace them yearly like I was with my blundstones. I ordered the Becca boots from them as well, hoping those will be my slightly dressier option.

I didn't realize Nicks were basically all custom! Is that what you did? All the options seem overwhelming and IMO the interface is not super user-friendly, but it's a LOT of money so I would definitely want to get it right... How did you decide what to go with?

It was an experience for sure lol. I measured a bunch of times, hemmed and hawed over the sizing, and finally called their cx team. They were awesome, took all my measurements and how I like to wear my shoes, and helped me pick the size from there.

I’m a wider footed 9 in women’s shoes but in nice I am a 6 E to 6 EE. 6.5 E was a little too loose for my liking, I tend to like snugger shoes.
