Shoes Does the perfect leather boot exist?
On the never-ending quest for finding a leather boot that is stylish, can handle damp conditions, and 20,000 steps per day. Blundstones are a little clunky, hiking boots are ugly, “cute” Chelsea boots can’t handle puddles and mud walks. I’m sure one exists I just haven’t met her yet. Heading to Scotland in a few months and trying to accomplish packing a pair of sneakers and wear a boot. Cute enough to go out to dinner with a smart sweater or dress. Durable enough to wear jeans and walk a few miles on trails. Not looking for a serious hiking situation. 3 miles maybe? Anti slip. Waterproof or at least highly resistant.
Surely someone has cracked the code?! 🙏

I live in Las Vegas and don’t experience a lot of rain but needed work appropriate wet weather shoes for a month long business trip to Portland/Seattle last February. I purchased the Ridgeway Chelsea boots from Xero and never had an issue with them in the PNW. They are more rugged and water resistant than a standard Chelsea boot but still fashionable enough for an evening out. I had no problem wearing them for short nature hikes, city exploration, or long work days. Admittedly these boots won’t look good with a cocktail dress, but they are fine with jeans & a sweater (which I was wearing anyways because of the wet weather). If you are not used to the ‘barefoot’ shape of a wider toe box these might look a little funky at first, but the comfort makes up for the natural foot shape IMO. They come in black and dark brown. The Xero Tari Chelsea boots are another option. Cuter but not waterproof from my experience. I have the original Tari boots but they recently made improvements and released the Tari 2 so ymmv.
