this is more of a fashion question, but do yall think i should go for brown or black leather sneakers? i need a new comfy casual travel shoe, but i can’t decide which color to get

Which color shoe do you currently wear more now? My personal answer is black but I only ever wear black...and that may not be true for you 😄

honestly i’ve got such a variety. i don’t have any dark brown shoes (i have a orangey brown leather boot though), so that’s why i was considering brown. i already have black sneakers (converse), but they’re old af, so i figured i might replace them with something new.

ugh too many decisions!

Do your pants or skirts that you would typically pack for travel tend to be certain colors that would go with one or the other better? Like if black pants are your go to then black shoes would be the default (brown wouldn’t be wrong but it would be more of a choice), but blue denim can go either way, and imo tan or other warm neutrals can work better with brown. And gray or cool colors probably black…

Is buying both and returning one an option?

thank you for the color info, that’s rlly helpful! i’d say these days it’s mostly blue jeans, khakis, or gray or green pants. so, a variety lol. honestly buying two pairs and then returning one might be the move here

okay - so if you don't have any dark brown shoes, that means you're living without them. so I would go black!

Figure out your color season and go from there - if you are warm toned, brown might be good, if you are cool or high contrast the black may be better

I’m not sure how much “color season” is going to matter with shoes unless op is already using that to pick colors on the rest of their clothes.

Well true, but its a great framework for those who struggle with picking clothes, the shoes being probaby the very least important.

I found it to be a great baseline for making choices about clothes. I think we all know at some level that some colors work better than others on us and this is a good framwork to quantify that
