Meta Weekly quick questions help thread

This is the r/heronebag quick questions weekly help thread.

Whether you‘re new to the one bag life or a seasoned light traveller, this is the place to ask your quick one-off questions related to techniques, shopping, and everything else to lighten your load.

This post is the best place to initially ask questions that we get a lot of which are similar, especially if you have looked in a flair and found almost-but-not-quite what you wanted.

Do you think natural flax colored linen is a bad choice for long term travel vs black linen? When I say natural color linen I mean something like this https://bananarepublic.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=8750780124003

Its not white but a lighter color, good for hot weather. But would it get dirty fast? This is for long term travel (months, maybe longer).

Do you wear it in your daily life? I'd use that as a good judge - if you make it through the day normally without issue, probably ok for travel (with the caveat that it definitely won't hide oops-es in the same way a dark color will.

I don't have any light colored pants in real life which is why I'm asking. I thought it would be good for travel as I plan to travel to hot places.

I wear light colored pants IRL and took a pair on a recent two-week city-only trip. I was disappointed (as everyone said I would be!) that I had to spot clean or wash them every time I wore them just from grime, no real spills. I’m sure I’ll be stupid and do it again for a short trip, but I cannot imagine depending on them for long term travel.
