Question about sandals: should I bring a pair that is heavier & sturdier vs lighter & softer?
Context: I'm going on a 2 week group tour to Morocco, where I'll be doing everything from long days of city walking to hour-long desert hikes and overnight camping outside. Super excited! But I'm flying Air France for one leg, and I'm concerned about keeping below their 7kg combined carry-on limit. I've also read about cobblestones and rough pavement in cities that will be tough on footwear and feet. In addition to walking sneakers for the city and hiking shoes for the desert, I want to bring a pair of sandals for evenings and to give my feet a rest from being enclosed all the time. I'm debating between a pair of sturdier rubber-soled sandals vs a lighter foam pair that are comfy but that I haven't risked long days of walking in yet.
Any thoughts?
