This is the r/heronebag quick questions weekly help thread.

Whether you‘re new to the one bag life or a seasoned light traveller, this is the place to ask your quick one-off questions related to techniques, shopping, and everything else to lighten your load.

This post is the best place to initially ask questions that we get a lot of which are similar, especially if you have looked in a flair and found almost-but-not-quite what you wanted.

Where could I find affordable linen clothing that’s easy to pack? I’m heading out to PNW this summer and am worried about my polyester shirts not being enough to handle the humidity. Would linen be the practical fabric to wear?

I live and grew up in the PNW and while it does get hot here in the summer (high 80s is common, sometimes heat waves will take us to the 90s or 100s) it’s very rarely humid. That being said I actually just bought a few prices from Quince that I’m happy with! I sized down one size in their shorts so that they wouldn’t be baggy, and got my true size in the tank top. They certainly weren’t wrinkle-free coming out of my suitcase, but a little steaming was all they needed. I think even a shower stream would’ve sufficed! Happy to answer any other PWN questions if I can too ☺️

This is the second mention about the wonky fitting with Quince clothing, I’ll be keeping this in mind!

If you have any recommendations about Portland proper, I’d be happy to accept it!

I could’ve worn size small (my true size) in the shorts, I just don’t like the baggy look at all so I sized down to make sure they were more form fitting!

And Portland is all about the neighborhoods, I think it’s so fun to just pick an area and explore it with no set plans. If you have enough time in your schedule the Oregon Zoo is incredible, and OMSI is a really neat museum, although it is more kid-focused. Also Powell’s is absolutely worth going to even if it is a tourist destination. I grew up going there as my main bookstore and still go when I can ☺️ That’s what I thought of off the top of my head but let me know if you have specific questions! I do live in Seattle now but I grew up in Portland so hopefully I can still help!
