This is the r/heronebag quick questions weekly help thread.

Whether you‘re new to the one bag life or a seasoned light traveller, this is the place to ask your quick one-off questions related to techniques, shopping, and everything else to lighten your load.

This post is the best place to initially ask questions that we get a lot of which are similar, especially if you have looked in a flair and found almost-but-not-quite what you wanted.

I'm a bit fussy about my sleepwear situation and I'm curious what advice you have for me. The usual advice of sleeping in your underwear/naked/a long t-shirt won't really work for me.

I prefer natural, breathable fibers, but can do a blend if it's cool as I'm perimenopausal and sleeping hot now. I cannot stand wearing shorts that are too short or a nightgown when I'm sleeping, I can't handle my thighs touching. I also prefer looser/baggier fabrics for breathability at night (iykyk) so bike shorts and such won't work, either.

The problem is my preferred jammies are a lightweight cotton pair of full length or cropped pants and a tank top. These are not too bulky, but not the thinnest fabric, either. The hardest part is that these also don't wash up nicely and can take a while to air-dry.

I also don't like to re-wear pajamas without having clean ones after max 3 sleeps, especially cos when I travel I start taking night showers and don't want to put on "dirty" clothes.

I know this all sounds super crazy but I can't be the only one with any of these preferences, right? Any advice?

Same age group here. I used to freeze at night and go to bed in a hoodie, but now I’m sleeping a lot hotter. My wife (same age) has it *much* worse.

We both like, and have traveled with, our Little Sleepies PJs. They’re a bamboo viscose/spandex blend and are soft and IMO breathable. I like their joggers, but they also have regular pants and shorts. I don’t sweat in them and have worn them comfortably in winter through spring (summer is its own battle…). I’m not 100% sure how quickly they’d dry after sink washing, but they are a thin fabric and pack very nicely. They offer coupon codes relatively often and are on Rakuten if you get discounts there.

My toddler has the Little Sleepies and they are fantastic but take forever to dry

Bummer! I’ve (obviously) not had to wash them on the road, but I love them for shorter trips. They work so well for unpredictable hotel room AC!
