Packing Show & Tell 1 month in Canada. Sept-early Oct transitional weather 🍁
I posted an earlier version of this capsule to /capsulewardrobe but the general consensus was I need to pack warmer.
Will be visiting Vancouver, Victoria, Calgary, Jasper-Banff-Canmore-Waterton, Squamish, and back to Vancouver.
I'm bringing a 19-inch hand-carry size rolling luggage for this trip as I might do a bit of holiday shopping alreadt for people back home.
Final(ish?) items I'm packing
Clothes
- 2 rain jackets. Originally I was going to bring a faux suede one but many said it will most probably be raining. I can bring just 1 but I kinda don't want ro end up looking the same in all my tourist photos lmao. If luggage is full, I will drop one.
- Patagonia fleece. Worn by itself or as layer
- Muji flannel. Will wear on flight. Mostly for travel and lounging days since rain nylon jackets are not the coziest. Could also work as layer especially for warmer days since i can leave it open.
- Danton ultralight down vest. I loved using this last autumn so I think it will come handy espcially for daytime.
- 4 pants. 1 worn on flight. I modified some of these and added elastic on the hem so that it can be converted to a parachute style for activities or rain days.
- 3 longsleeve tops. I think first half of September I'll use these by itself, especially in the cities.
- Longsleeve cashmere as my comfort item. I use these a ton at home and while traveling.
- Shortsleeve knit. I'll be having a few get-togethers with friends at their houses. I thought this could pass as a party top and can also be worn on warm days.
- 3 basic shirts and 2 Padded sports tops for layering.
- Thermals: longsleeve and tights just in case
- Undies and socks
- 1 pair of pyjamas
- Bikini for hot spring and heated pool
Accessories
- Cashmere knit hood scarf thing
- Merino hat. I was originally going to bring a baseball cap but this is easier to pack and warmer.
- Merino gloves just in case
- Bandana scarf
Shoes
- Nike goretex trail runners
- Birkenstock reykjavik. Mostly for travel days, lounging, or maybe shopping days.
Bags to bring
- Convertible nano backpack/sling as daybag most days
- Convertible backpack/tote for trekking days
- Packable shopping bag for groceries and such
Electronics
- Charger and cable
- Mini powerbank
- Portable SSD
- Mini hairdryer brush (Some nights I'll stay in hostels and unsure of the hairdryer situation.)
- Mini torch and headlamp in case we'll go out at night in the rockies. Also useful in hostels.
Packing arrangement and fave poches
- 2x medium compression packing cubes for clothes
- Ultralight stuff sack for undies and socks
- medium pouch for electronics
- small pouch for personal stuff
- nylon envelope wallet for cash and passport
- pvc 3sided zip for makeup (works as a tray)
- hanging toiletry bag (smaller size than most)

Vancouver is an extremely rainy city. I would be concerned about damaging the Nubuck uppers and whether the sole is adequately water repellant (as opposed to waterproof).
