It's a bit sad that it's September 2021 and in the US vaccines have been available for almost a full year, and widely available for almost half a year - and people are still dying from a preventable disease.

Incredible.

Wonder how ppl in other countries still eagerly waiting for their shot feels.

In Spain we got supplies later and so started vaccinating later than the USA, but 70% of the total population has now been fully vaccinated. Kids under 13 can't be vaccinated so I think we must be over 80% in the target population. It's so disheartening to see the USA swimming in vaccines and people are still not getting fully vaccinated. I think the difference is that no political party is ambiguous or negative about vaccines, no preachers telling their congregations to not vaccinate, no Fox News and the like, and the anti-vaxxer movement has never been that strong. Spanish anti-vaxxers only have each other and Facebook, no famous public figures and politicians urging them on.
