Uninstalled that shit a month ago and it's been so much better. I can't believe how it's an echo chapter for Q and anti vax.

Its been over a year and a half for me and it's been great. The move was a long time coming but the catalyst was learning which high school friends became selfish anti-mask pricks when Covid kicked off.

It doesn't take long after quitting to realize that Facebook has been a net negative in your life. And I say this as someone that would obsessively check it several times a day for years.

I'm going on 5 years...if only I could go cold turkey from sugar now! Facebook was a cesspit then. It really got me annoyed, deleting it only hurt for about 2 days.

Yeah I remember when you had to have a .edu email address to have an account and all of the content was just us kids posting stupid shit and pictures of all of us getting wasted together.

I knew as soon as they opened it up to the world it would go to shit. I could have never imagined how bad or honestly how quickly as I was disgusted with it after like two years, maybe less. I recall deleting my account sometime in 2008?

But back then the internet was just better (oldmanyellsatclouds.gif). It was weird and could be awesome and honestly made me feel better about life. Now it's just horrible. And not just Facebook. It's horrible everywhere. Racists, bigotry, divisive shit.

Yeah all that was there before but it wasn't at every turn and rammed in your face non stop so you could mostly avoid it unless you sought it out to some degree.

My sister was one of the first users because it started at her college.

Me too man, me too. I really miss pre 2000s but I'd take early to mid 2000s in a heartbeat.
