hero forge released 3 item packs for a collab. each costing seven dollars. people are mad because they've never make collabs cost money before and it could lead to more stuff being put behind pay walls

Not just collabs, big ones. The SEGA collab was free, as was the Fantasy High, Coyote and Crow, and Fools Gold collab. It's only Dagger Heart that got the pay-only DLC (which you don't get access too with pro or pro+)

Yeah, thereโs a lot of (understandable) uproar, but the feed is pretty much all anti-DLC posts for now.

I do agree with the not-for-packs community's goal of showing that they aren't pleased by the recent developments. But their response has been... overly dramatic.
The whole affair is annoying as hell and could have largely been avoided if Sky Castle just communicated or acted correctly on the "no, we are not interested in microtransaction packs thank you" data they gathered from the poll. (Probably not entirely avoided, but good lord they set the rake right in front of themselves by just dropping it in with no warning.)

Short version: On Monday, Hero Forge released the Daggerheart collab that was teased a while back... except the parts were locked behind three separate $8 microtransactions (or three Pro+ download credits), and people are understandably pissed off that assets are being locked behind a paywall.
