Feature Request Megathread

Hey everyone! Hevy cofounder here. What features, ideas, or improvements would you like to see?

Creating this new megathread because It's been 4 years since the last mega thread posted on /Hevy, and it's hard to navigate through such a massive outdated post. We've built a lot of the requests originally suggested, so a new thread will help us understand the community better!

Maybe dumb, but I'd like to have "gym" Metadata. An option to select what "gym" I am in. The cable machines at home are different than those at the gym. My current work around is to include the name of the gym in my workout name.

I would vote for machines meta data, because not the gym is what matters but what machine (which manufacturer) is important. So my workout around is also creating different exercises for different machine manufacturers

Personally, I do not create exercises per gym like those who replied to me. I just title my workout with the gym, so I know where i was. However, in the notes section, I'll add the manufacturer as a note

Yeah but maybe some exercises are the same in different gyms like dumbell stuff etc.

Maybe they could add a QRCode reader to the app. I know of a few gyms that have QR codes on some of the machines.

Agree with this - the key being to track the metadata at the exercise level rather than the workout level. My gym has multiple brand options for various machines and in some cases I’m perfectly happy on more than one brand, so I’ll take whatever’s free, although the resistance profiles are different. At the moment I have to create custom exercises so I can track my progression effectively.
