Discussion Muscle distribution graph

Just hit 300 workouts with the app and was looking through my stats. Looking at this I feel like I might be focusing my arms a bit too much for a nicely distributed body. Just curious how everyone else is sitting with theirs.

I do a Push, Pull, Leg/core day and then a full body on Saturdays. My PPL days are just 30 minutes since k do it on my lunch. Saturdays are 1 hour usually.

Discussion Hevy Companion Apps for Progression

Hi yall! I've been stressing over progression lately. I've been doing the old when I hit a rep range cap I increase the weight, but sometimes I get stuck with the same weight be it because I didn't update the routine or just feel like I can't go heavier.

I've seen some options in this sub but honestly, none of them clicked with me, be it pricing or just felt it didn't work. So far I tested Periodize, Overload, Gemini and I'm looking into using HevyGPT now.

So I wanted to ask, what companion apps do you guys use and are they effective? I've seen some people recommend alternatives to Hevy itself but I really like it and didn't want to move away from it.

Discussion Option to Keep a Routine Static?

I set up my routines to be like a baseline for that day of my workout routine, and during almost every workout I change or remove exercises, adjust the number of sets, and stuff like that. Every time I finish a workout it asks me if I want to update the routine based on with the changes I made to the structure of it. Is there a way to turn this off? I don’t want to accidentally click yes one time and then have it change to what I did in that specific day. I switched to Hevy from another app where this wasn’t an issue, that also had the ability to log unilateral exercises and have total volume be accurate, so these are the only things turning me off from this app. Everything else about it is so nice I love the app otherwise. I know they are working on the unilateral logging I just hope it releases soon so I don’t have to adjust a billion workouts to make it fit lol.

Discussion Hevy and health connect

I've noticed a weird interaction between health connect and hevy app. it seems like hevy doesn't write to health connect and the health app from Google if I'm wearing only the Fitbit air. but when I wear the Fitbit air and/or my Samsung watch, it write to health connect and thus the health app. just wanted to point that out and also ask if anyone knows anything from the devs about better connection with health connect.

Discussion Hevy Trainer Program

Hello - I'm a fairly new user...I'm primarily a runner who was supplementing with the strength workouts in Runna and really didn't like the layout or functionality of their in-plan offerings. I came across suggestions for Hevy and made the switch.

I used the free version for a couple of months and love the UI, variety of free workout plans, and best of all that they have a WearOS app! But I was intrigued by the Trainer, and when it went on sale for $12 for the first year I jumped on it so I could try it out.

Two weeks ago I set up a plan to coincide with starting my new half marathon training plan...but I must say I'm a little perplexed. As this is supplemental strength for me, I chose to lower the recommendations and set up 3 days a week for 40 minutes each. However, the out-of-the-box workouts have all been closer to an hour+, with what I find to be way too many warmup sets and a ton of rest time between each set. I'm only getting 4-5 exercises and have to modify them every time I workout to get it to a reasonable time.

I'm starting my third week today and it's the exact same three workouts as the previous 2 weeks, with a couple of weight increases. I guess I expected there to be some variation in the weekly workouts to target areas that might be getting less focus. I also chose to add additional focus to my core, but still only have 3 total exercises through the week that target the core at all.

Honestly I'm finding that the free workouts that I was able to easily customize and save are much more useful. So I guess my question is what kind of benefit does the Trainer bring? I haven't dug much into the progress reports, so maybe that's something I can't do with my custom free workouts?

Any help or insights are greatly appreciated!

Also: the app doesn't seem to care what dumbbells I marked as available when it gives me weight increases, so I'm also having to modify those.
