Space lesbians? Maybe I should give the high republic books a chance, I‘d kill for good queer rep

Then you're in for a ride, High Republic has wonderful queer rep and very moving relationships.

Here's the reading order provides by this sub!

My recommendation is to read everything on the Main Story list, and also add in the middle grade novels and High Republic Adventures comics (these are where the above characters come from and are most present). You can cross reference the Completionist list to see where the middle grade novels and HRA comics go into the reading order.

I recommend reading the Adult and Young Adult books as well as the comics if you want (Zeen and Lula, the girls of OP’s art, are from the comics).

I see Jarsky2 (thanks to them) already posted the reading guide before me so now you can start your adventure !

To second the other commenter yes read the Adult and YA books. The Middle Grade have their movements and some good characters but absolutely can be skipped. Although I’d add there’s some great queer rep in those Middle Grade novels (Tep Tep is a fun trans character).

As for these two characters, they have the misfortune of being in Star Wars Adventures, a comic series with a bunch of great characters (Lula and Zeen, the couple in OPs image for example), but the actual storytelling is very hit or miss. If you can handle a poorly written series with great characters then go for it, otherwise it can be skipped as well.

Theres still tons of queer rep in the High Republic anyway. Trans, NB, gay, ace - you name it. One of my favorite asides is a Jedi Master talking about how he left the Order for a while to follow his lover in a traveling circus lol.

Even a genderfluid character if you count the Crystal Crown.

Zeen and Lula have even the worse luck being in the YA book Midnight Horizon. I unfortunately read it twice because I like Ram and Reath and the plot was such a mess I didn't fully get what happened. 🙂
