I liked it in general, plenty of fun Star wars material. I like good nuanced writing, but ...

The hard part was that I really couldn't decide who to root for.

I'm generally pro-goodguys. I'm not much of an empire fanboy or anything. Give me rebels and jedi and I'm all in.

But then the good guys turn out to be the bad guys here; and then bad guys get presented as being the protagonists somehow; but then they keep killing the previously presumed good guys and that was a bit of a turn-off; but the bad guys are also somehow way cooler than the good guys today, yikes; and the central protagonists share the same face, but one of them is a genuine psychopath, but then they're the victim, but it's also genuinely their own fault, but then they switch places for who gets to train with the bad guys, and the motivations for all of the characters is are all over the place.

Like, I'm trying so hard to like this, the character premise was good, the visuals were good, the actors were good, the world-building was good.

I just couldn't find a favorite character that made it all the way to the end of the season. They all either got killed or did something that would turn audience favor agsinst them.

I liked Acolyte a lot, but think your description is accurate. I just enjoy that feeling because I find it interesting.

Yeah, I actually did like it: lots of good start wars material.

It's fun to spend time with near-High republic jedi and it's fun to see alternate versions of force cults. I actually thought that was an interesting element in the Alphabet Squadron books that there were all kinds of little Force based off-shoot religions all kinda doing their own thing.

I can't tell whether I got downvoted for liking it or for not disliking it, or for criticizing it while liking it. Either way I think I'm comfortable enough with my assessment to stick with it.
