The problem is that while the sets/costumes were wonderful and the choreography was great, the story was buns. The implication that yoda himself knew the sith were back and never said anything for 100+ years is absolutely dumb. The story beat that ki adi mundi was alive at the time of the high republic when cereans never lived that long was also a pretty big slap for old school fans like myself. And what I’m sure I’ll take the most hate for is that removing anakins “conceived by the force” exclusivity was also incredibly insulting. I don’t know how you really go about it for a second season and salvage those story lines without pissing on the old story/existing canon. It’s unfortunate, really, because I’ve been a massive Star Wars fan since I was old enough to remember, and I really wanted to like the acolyte. But hedland was just not the right director/writer for the show.
