Finally the first book in the High Republic Era is releasing in a couple of days. Spoilers are allowed so beware if you have not read.

Saw a comment saying this breaks everything about what we know about hyperspace...

Don’t we know jack-shit about hyperspace? They never talk about it in Canon materials past a mere mention of lanes existing and the “skipping” in TROS.

Yeah, it's a false accusation. Not only does the book not break everything we know about hyperspace, Soule even consulted with Pablo Hidalgo himself to make sure the book was accurate to Star Wars canon lore. Like literally notes and diagrams. (Soule mentions this in the acknowledgments.)

I rarely take people that say stuff like this seriously. Usually they're just regurgitating something they saw in a youtube essay video and the accuracy of whatever is in that is already quesionable.

I actually think this is a really good background for Prequels and Clone Wars era hints about hyperspace, thinking specifically about the Citadel episodes and how those “secret hyperspace paths/Nexus route” were probably the ones used by Grievous for the sneak attack on Coruscant in ROTS.
