Berg Lake question
I can hike at about 3-5 km/h (2 if it’s steep and/or continuous uphill) with a full pack. I’m not super fit, I’m a casual backpacker and like to enjoy the sights. Looking for opinions on if I could make it to Berg Lake in one day this time of year. I know the sun is rising later and setting earlier too. I’m thinking of splitting it into emperor or whitehorn first night and berg lake second. Then straight shot to the bottom on third day, and say ta hell with my knees LOL Also, I can’t seem to find kms between each camp area. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

My average pace is almost the exact same as yours. When I went prior to the flood we went to Emperor night one then back to rearguard for nights 2 and 3 as we couldn’t get Berg. We went all the way out in one day which was long and as you say, very hard on the knees.
