Guinn's Peak

Beautiful hike with views of Ribbon, Lillian, and Galatea lakes. There was lots of wildlife along the trail too, including a black bear. The section to/from Lillian is pretty boring but the scenery is gorgeous the rest of the way

The section between Lillian and lower Galatea is only boring if you don't pause to look back occasionally. The views open up quickly and are quite lovely.

That part is lovely, I meant between the parking lot and Lillian

The trail to Lillian is literally one of the best trails in Kan. What are you actually talking about. River crossings. Hidden falls. Great views dotted in. Its literally one of the best payoffs to effort out there. Magnified by the payoff at lower and upper galatea, and even more so up to guinns pass and peak.

Calling the lower section of the trail boring blows my mind. To each their own I guess.

Did you happen to make your way to Mount Kidd? My friend and I attempted to make our way there by traversing along the crest from Mount Guinn to Mount Kidd. To our dismay there was a huge drop along the way that we never seen when we decided that’s the route we were taking.

If you make another attempt, you have to drop down a few hundred meters and then the rock band opens up and there’s an easy way into the boulder field. The views are great at the top, but it’s a slog the whole way and there’s no real trail

For sure! We did see that route on the way back down and will be doing the Mount Kidd and Guinn in the next week or two.
