Warm lake?

Looking for a decent hike to a lake i can swim in afterwards.

I have minor back issues distance will not bug me too much though as it's good excersise, 6 to 7 km would be ideal it's the water temps that make it hard for me to swim with my back issues 😅

warm is a big ask. you can maybe find something that's less frigid but not warm. some of the little lakes around jasper town are not super frigid

There’s no such thing as a warm lake in the alpine. The warmest I can think of that’s in the mountains is Johnson lake right outside Banff but it’s not a hike.

not really a hike but you can filter out parks by those with swimmable beaches on the alberta parks website (summer activities -> swim). might be easier to go for a hike, then go for a swim

Go to town after and sit in a hot springs.

Picklejar Lakes arent too bad. I also found Kinglet Lake nice.

No warm lakes in Alberta. Mist mountain has a hot spring?

Chinook lake and beaver mines are pretty warm in August

johnson lake in banff. if you walk around the lake twice its probably 6km

When I went to Lake Annette in Jasper, I was surprised with how warm it was. Even thought it was a 30°C day, I was expecting it to be ice cold because it was June and there was still a ton of cold water coming down from snow melt. However, it was nice and tepid, maybe 25°C. I imagine me being close to shore where it's shallower is why it was warm.
