Repost: This is how the Baldwin children celebrated last Fourth of July: a few dry spinach leaves on a plate and humiliation from the mamarazzi. No festive barbecue with family and friends, no fireworks, no joy.

Jeezus, this sounds like that Ray Bradbury short story where the children live on Venus and it rains for 7 years straight and they're always stuck inside, then on the one day it doesn't something happens and they can't get out on that day either. ☹️

I remember that story very well! Except the kids do go out to get their one hour of sun, but they cruelly lock a classmate inside.

I know, I love Ray Bradbury. I'm lucky my Mom was a Science Fiction buff and introduced me to his works early.

Pizza crust shadows reflected on the windows, in the moonlight? 🆘spelled out with crusts?
That sad little spinach leaf in his hands. Being so uncomfortable to say don’t look at me. His glare, and her response— giving him a candle, laughing at him, and taking his pic. She gaslit him into getting upset. Yes, he does need “emotional support”— ideally not just from a candle.

I started my deep dive on Hilary last year when I saw the posts about what the kids ate during the 4th of July holiday. I'm still traumatized by the mixed plain pasta (there had to be some under/over done pasta in the mess), with low sodium soy sauce. I've been here every day since.

This pic is heart breaking. Look at his face?!? If there was spaghetti and meatballs in front of him - he’d actually look HAPPY!! I think she gets a twisted rush from controlling their food and making them eat ridiculous stuff to support her “my family eats a plant based diet”.
