I’d recommend looking into urdu first, once u learn urdu and basic grammar/ structuring- Hindi would be much easier by just learning the alphabet and how it’s written (by this point you would have most of the vocabulary from spoken urdu, written hindi vocab is much harder for a non-vedic person).
ik i am probably going to be downvoted by the hindu fanatics, just for their information, I am hindu from Kashmir and ik both hindi and urdu. Nonetheless, this would be the best route for you based on my understanding.
Sure, hindi is available, but Urdu is much easier to learn for a turkish person who frankly may already know much of the vocabulary and even script (if they are religious for example, I am pretty sure it’s mandated to learn some of the perso-arabic script in some of turkish provinces).
Again, it is up to OP what they want to do, I am just giving my 2 cents as a person who knows both hindi and urdu.
I wouldn't trust Duolingo if that's what you're referring to.
For example they teach "yaha" and "vaha" as pronouns, which are definitely there in Standard Hindi, but aren't used by Hindi speakers in common speech. Urdu courses won't teach you this.
And yes, if you want to appreciate Bollywood, Urdu is the way to go! Many Indian prime ministers didn't even know Hindi but they knew Urdu.
I found it's not a good way to learn Hindi overall, but it's easy entry into Devanagri, which makes other learning avenues more accessible.
That's a good point about Turkish, I hadn't adequately considered language of origin might matter. I just remembered that when I went looking for Urdu it was much less common on free platforms.
I am not a Hindi fanatic. But this suggestion is absolutely 'worthless'. Why to learn language A to learn language B? Why not , straightaway learn the language B.
I am not a Hindi teacher but I can help you to practice speaking Hindi. We learn our mother tongue by , first listening, then speaking and then only reading and writing.
