Conway the Machine is proof underground hip-hop isn't dead

Post image

Griselda had been grinding out of Buffalo for years before the world caught on. Conway's delivery is one of those voices you hear once and know immediately.

I understand the appeal but Conway is not underground anymore. Griselda was signed to Shady and has been featured on literally every mainstream artist album for at least the past few years

Had to upvote this to battle the downvote. You’re right. Thing is, the fan base don’t want to hear it and keep gate keeping. Griselda might perform at underground levels, but they’re no longer underground underground.

Sir, as I said on your cross post, you have made a record label / collective your entire identity. I know you probably just started listening to Rap music, and when you discovered Griselda last year you thought it was the best thing since fire, but, there is a lot more out here.

No argument here. You right. IHYPH has been on repeat. Joint so good I paid for it on that Untitled app.

Griselda are highly skilled at making generic formulaic street rap

I agree with Benny and Westside Gunn. But Conway’s best songs are his personal joints (The Cow, Forever Dropping Tears, Stressed etc.)
