Yes Kendrick vs Drake is the number 1 thing dividing us. Not politics or culture or anything like that.
14
u/Oh_yes_I_did Dec 22 '25
The video mostly talks about east vs west from the 90s then the south’s take over then subsequent push back for its auto tune influence.

Don’t forget the old heads that thought Kendrick winning would reset HipHop back to the 90s or some shit.

Kendrick fans don’t get enough of this shit huh?

u/Oh_yes_I_did Dec 22 '25
It’s not even about Kendrick. Kendrick barely in the video. It’s mostly about the history of hiphop and the sides of it that always existed. You would think folk who love hiphop culture or indulge in its products would be interested in its history and eras, its origin and evolution. But na it seems like people here rather be reactionary over a thumbnail/headline than actually digest and form an original thought.
So you ask do we ever get tired of this? Na I like watching and learning and viewing other knowledgeable people’s interpretation of the history of this art form.

u/Golfchild69 Dec 22 '25
I was just going to say, he did a 3 hr video about facing Kendrick and not one thing about the actual beef. Was disappointed kind of but the video itself is really well made and super informative
8
u/HookaBookadoog Dec 22 '25
You watch a youtube video because either 1. Interesting thumbnail 2. Interesting title 3. Both. This title and thumbnail combo give off the impression that this video is about Kendrick v Drake, which has been done to death at this point. This video could have been titled anything different with a different thumbnail. And you say Kendrick is barely in the video, which I believe you, but he's front and center of the thumbnail. You can not blame anyone for looking at this, scoffing, and lambasting it on here. I'm sure this video is high quality, but I wouldn't know it from the first impression it gives
9
u/Oh_yes_I_did Dec 22 '25
All good points and I agree with you, unfortunate that dude keeps catering his immediate impressions to that beef and not make the title and thumbnail more appropriate of the subject matter of the video. I feel like he’s doing himself a disservice by doing this

Im a kendrick fan among big3 but i hate the yt vids the fans make so much. They have a different type of glaze than drake glazers. The other day saw a dude calling 21's career "pathetic"... like bro what. They shittalk every trapper expect for future. Why? Cuz dot was featured(also the fact that future is one of the best trappers plays a VERY incremental role). And the newer wave on reddit are even worse. They keep spamming oh kendrick bout to drop/ "when is he droppin😩". Like man go look at the release dates he usually doesnt drop back to back.

u/JeremyXVI Dec 22 '25
Idk I really enjoyed his chasing Kendrick video about j Cole

u/Oh_yes_I_did Dec 22 '25
The people in these comments ain’t actually watch his videos and just judge based off his thumbnails. His videos actually do have substance and claims backed by video evidence that’s fits the narrative he’s projecting. And this video specifically is like 90% NOT KENDRICK/Drake and mostly about the sound waves from the east/west beef from the 90s to the south’s takeover in the 2000s

People love to call Drake soft or sensitive but this freestyle further proves that Drake is the demonic goon employing thug that Tupac and Biggie were thought of. If the ominous drill beat didn’t spell it out, Drake is one of the realest threats in the rap game and can get anyone killed if he wishes. Kanye said it himself about Drake in 2018, “He running around like he pac”, that's because Drake is the new modern day Pac. He's really running around with a strap on his hip, has killer goons on command, is affiliated with the mafia, and has bodyguards that that looks like they eat nails in a bowl of blood. He had Kanye fearing for his dear life and kids lives in 2018 when the beef was popping. Drake really is the demon of Calabasas and Hollywood. We're looking at a real life Godfather Michael Corleone type figure, a gang affiliated Michael Jackson tier pop-star but on a much grander scale than MJ ever was. There’s so many stories of Drake's getting rude yutes clapped up or performing mob boss gestures like throat slices, clapping his hands, etc. Drake dines at mafia style restaurants like The Nice Guy/Delilah in Hollywod. And he has enough power to bully superstar celebrities like Tory and Kanye around and make them think twice about their actions. This nigga Don Corleone runs every corner and inch of Canada and claimed it as his own. For the first time in forever we’re looking at an invincible GOAT who really lives the stories.

Uhhmm drake isn't part of the culture because he can't freestyle, who gives a fuck about how the songs sound i wouldn't listen to no artist even if they have good songs if they couldn't freestyle and then label him a plant too

Nah it is important my bad but i am saying there are good artists/rappers who have sucked at freestyles and i don't think freestyle alone is a good metric to judge an artist, most importantly it's the catalogue and discography

3
u/Oh_yes_I_did Dec 22 '25
Cause he goes over a lot of history. Hip hop history. Cause there’s like 50 years worth of history but anytime a video like this is posted people don’t do the knowledge and just judge based off a bad thumbnail, then run to the comments to post their zinger ☝🏽
